Q: I am underweight in these companies from your Balanced Portfolio and I have some money to buy into one of the above. It would not materially affect my sector weighting and dividends, while nice, do no affect my choices. Which one would you suggest for a long term hold?

Q: We currently have 100 shares of Visa and believe the cc space is a strong area to invest in with the cashless trend in business, while we feel Visa and Mastercard are the dominant players we personally use our Amex card extensively and would like your opinion of adding axp to our portfolio or should we add to Visa.

Q: The BMO Ultra Short-Term Bond ETF (ZST) has a 10 year chart that has gone down over the period (about 16%) and in the last year it has followed a regular monthly zig-zag chart pattern up in the beginning weeks of the month but down rapidly near the ex-dividend date. Any comments regarding this pattern or this ETF in general?
Q: Can you assess the risk reward of buying these 2 cruise line stocks here - or would you advise waiting. NCL looks to cheaper; but has no dividend.
CCL has a 4.5% dividend ... (likely to be secure?) ..... which could justify be payed to wait for the eventual increase in share price.
Thank you for your help.

Q: Good Afternoon,
I’m typically a contrarian stock buyer. With the stock market at record levels right now, would you suggest wait for a pullback or do you have any stocks that I should consider buying? Thank you.

Q: I am concerned about problems with A&Ws problems with understanding their core brand and Burger King seems to be contra to a shift to healthier food. Will BK's followers carry the company? and is this a time to bail.
Q: How do you feel about WSP as a buy at todays valuation? Do their growth prospects warrant the price?
Q: Can you help me understand why SHOP went vertical (looking at the minute to minute pattern on the RBC website) Wednesday literally in a heart beat? Is the observation correct in terms of the 7-8% pop happened instantly? If correct how does this happen? Is this programmed trading? Would any regular folks have been able to buy it along the way up or did it just pop without any pauses along the way up?
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
Q: Paypal looks to be making some very strategic moves from getting access to the Chinese Market, worldwide partnership with Unionpay and a strategic investment in Mercadolibre. I have not really felt a need to add them as a holding but with these moves they are shaping up to be a play on international markets such as LATAM and China without owing companies solely focused on those markets. How does it looking for a long term hold alongside MasterCard, Visa and Square. I like the payment space.
Q: CWW holds a lot of utilities but doesn't pay that high of a yield (.67%). Is there any unusual reason for this like a swap or something or do the holdings just not pay out that much for dividends? Also how badly do you think a slight increase in interest rates would hurt this etf?
Thanks

Q: Annaly seems to have produced some good results, based on market reaction, but I have difficulty understanding their financial statements. For me it's rather like peering through mud.
I've owned varying amounts of NLY for over 10 years and have recovered most of my capital as well as continuing to receive a fairly high yield.
Are you able to shine some light on it or would you need a team of accountants?

Q: I want to buy BEP. For tax efficiency, should I be holding this in my RRSP or TFSA or is a cash account OK? Is this holding converting to a conventional stock in 2020?
Thanks for your reply.

Q: I have 10K to invest & presently have no shares in the financial sector. Would you suggest purchasing 2 or 3 financial companies or just purchase a financial ETF, such as XFN. If I did invest in financial companies, what 3 or 4 companies would you recommend. Thanks … Cal
Q: I saw that Citigroup downgraded NTR to neutral from buy. Can you go over their report? They seem to now have a 12 month target of $47 down from $61 (please confirm that this target is in US $ and not Cdn $) Seems like NTR went down on Friday 14th due to this? What is your current view on NTR?
Q: For a 10yr hold what would be your 5 top TFSA picks at the moment
Thanks

Q: Peter & Co.,
I am reviewing Vermilion’s operation, financials and dividend in light of the Coronavirus. The virus is still largely an unknown factor in world health and economics. However, the impact on travel and commerce is certainly being felt. Among my concerns is the short/long term impact on energy consumption. Vermilion has 60% of its production in North America and 35% in Europe. Is there any way to evaluate what impact we can might expect on VET over the longer term?
With appreciation, Ed
