Q: On the tmx website for Grande West Transportation it lists 49 million outstanding shares but it also lists just over 20 million "escrow shares". Can you explain what this means? Thanks.

Q: my rrsp guy had me shift a bunch of $ into agf precious metals. It has lost a significant amount of money when gold dropped. Since gold has been rallying it hasn't joined the party. Do you know why this is the case? Was this an ill advised move from the get go?

Q: Given that the Canadian dollar has strengthened a bit after the last two rate hikes, which stocks in your balanced portfolio could have affected the most . Q: i notice all the mining stocks are down substanially, is this a u.s./ cdn dollar thing or something else and with respect to trevali, it seems to have huge swings in price , if zinc is in such short supply and they have all in cash costs of 49 cents, i suspect their earnings will be huge, can you comment. dave

Q: Tricon has a number of properties in Houston, and also in south Florida and along the Florida and Carolina coasts. How much effect will the recent storms have on them, in your opinion?
Also, housing starts have dropped for the last 3 months in the US-what is the effect of that on TCN?

Q: On Aug 9,TSGI reported results that beat expected eps & Rev.On 8/14 GSO that it is selling all its shares @ $23.50.Since then its price has declined.This maybe stirring ghosts of past issues esp.relating to the past ceo,D.Baazov.Later it was reported that it has 10.9m shares shorted on TSx,i.e. 9.4% of float---high--though low in US.Is Baazov on the board of directors & what is his current shareholding?Please provide background on the new major shareholder.I think he is Chinese by the name of HO who owns some 16%.Is he from Hong Kong or China?
