Q: In an earlier response, you noted that VTI is underweight in utilities, telecom and real estate. Can you recommend US ETFs which would address this gap and also provide dividends >3%? Thank you.

Q: Hi there, it looks like Tucows is breaking out as of recently and hitting new highs. What are your thoughts of this company and is it a good buy at today's prices? Thank you!
Q: Is there a way to buy 30-year US Strip Coupons? They seem like a prudent play on lower interest rates. Any risks? Thank you.
Q: Hi,
My RRSP is currently invested as 19% BCE, 16% BHP, 23% BMO, 13% CTC.A, 16% IPL, and 13% RY. These are all currently in drips and I am looking at long term investment as I won't be needed it for about 25 years. I have $20,000 cash to invest this year and I am wondering what you would suggest I put it in.
Thanks,
Leigh

Q: Hi Peter. I am considering buying an ETF which focuses on China. It can be either a Canadian or US dollar denominated ETF. Do you have a suggestion for one which focuses on the broad market? thx

Q: I have a substantial USD investing and as I age am beginning to think that I should invest some of it in fixed income ie bonds, gic type or preferreds. Do you have any suggestions for me as everyone I listen to focusses on Capital gains strategies only.
Q: In September you were generally positive on NTAP. Like the rest of the tech sector it was hit hard during the recent downturn dropping from $88 to $52. It has recovered to $63. Would you hold it here or take a loss and move on to, perhaps, OTEX?
Q: I am holding BXE and BNP...purchased at higher prices than present. What do you think of their prospects?
Q: hello 5i:

Q: Hello! Magellan Aerospace has popped up on one of my value screens. As far as key value ratios go (P/E, P/B, P/S, D/E etc.) it looks promising. Profitability and Management Effectiveness ratios vis-a-vis its competitive set look decent, as does the positive analyst coverage. Insider buying in past year is negligible, however. I'd appreciate hearing your take.
Q: I was recently considering a GIC purchase. Oaken Financial is offering a 5y GIC at 3.6% through either Home Bank or Home Trust. When I look at the GIC selection on RBC Direct Investing (or TD), the 5yr GIC at Home Trust is offered at only 3.1%. Does that mean that the bank pockets 0.5% annually from such a GIC? If so, what is the best way to avoid this loss? Buy from Oaken and then transfer to RBC?
Q: Would you buy OSB ($36.42) at this price and wait for a turn around while collecting its' dividend?
Dividend is $6.30/17.3% - is it safe or will it be cut?
Tks.

Q: Hello, i purchased SIS savaria corp @ $12.50. Is it still a buy recommendation @$15? Or should i wait for it to drop back down below $14? Thanks
Q: Good Morning,
I have narrowed down my decision to buying either COV or PHO for my $6000 TFSA contribution this year. I don't need the money for years into the future and risk is not an issue. I like both very much but wondering what you think for maximum growth? I think PHO is more cyclical and if we do get into a recession in the next 2-3 years it could take a pretty big hit. However, Covalon being in the medical supplies industry I would think it would hold up pretty well during a recession? What would you buy to maximize growth over the next 10 years plus ?
Thanks

Q: Recently came across this fund - Resolute Growth/ Performance - it was / is being run by Tom Stanley - I believe it is closed to new investors - but according to what I read it has performed incredible. Do you have any background to this story - what did they invest in to get these kind of numbers? Just found it very a interesting story.
