Q: Hi there
Love your service. I have held NWC for quite a well and like that it has a rather protected market in geographically isolated places, plus it's dividend and steady price.
I was thinking of adding to my position to bring it up to 5%. I would like your opinion of their recent earnings, prospects going forward and any thoughts on their damage in their Caribbean stores e.g. although some are damaged will their sales ramp up in the rebuild.

Q: I have BNS, RY, SLF and FSZ in equal amounts in my "Financial" basket and need to add another name to get my financials weighting to 15%. Can you suggest a new stock and/or a etf (CDN or US stock / etf) to compliment my current holdings OR would you just add to the 4 stocks that I have? Thanks

Q: Both of these stocks show up as Canadian Currency on my stock screener but when i bought FIH it was purchased in American Dollars. How can FIH trade on the tsx yet be traded in American Dollars (Never had this happen before; is there more us currency tsx stocks like this that i need to be made aware of?).

Does FAH-U trade in American Currency as well? Also do you know the holdings of FAH-U?

Q: Increase in interest rate due to strong economic growth(latest GDP 4.50%) is normally beneficial to financials( esp.Banks & lifcos)Yet TTFS(capped financial index)is down 0.68%,BNS 0.76% & SLF 1.13%.Please help me to understand.Thanks for u great services & views

Q: I currently hold a significant amount of U.S. cash in my US dollar RSP. With the latest
surge in the Canadian dollar vs the US dollar can you recommend any strategy that can
offset further decreases in the value of my holdings in Canadian dollar terms in the short or medium term? I am 71 this year and I will have to convert to a RIF by the end of this year. Given the current geopolitical environment and extreme weather in the southern US the likelihood of any US dollar appreciation or strength appears dim in the near term. Would holding gold or gold producers help to hedge my US position?
