Q: Dear 5I Team:
I hold Visa for wonderful gains of 80%. Lately it's seems to be going sideways a for a bit. I've tried to follow your advice about not selling on momentum and holding for 5 years at least. Does this apply to Visa at them moment. Been fascinated to see how many of my Asian colleagues now using Visa in Thailand, Japan etc whereas 5 years ago, it was only cash when they made purchases. Thx for your advice. Lorraine

Q: Hi team
I seldom invest in healthcare stocks as they are a political football in the U.S. and often have binary outcomes with drug trials. It seems you either hit a home run or strike out. I saw a question earlier on BIIB. It is on my pharma/healthcare watch list. I am not sure why I even keep this list as I never buy anything off it. BIIB is now taking a 2nd look at trial data on an Alzheimer drug it dismissed as not promising six months ago. Now they view it as promising. It makes no sense to me. Did they hire a new scientist or sharpen the font on their computer screen? Others that I put on my list include AMRN and GH that to me also depend on binary outcomes on drug trials. My question is a general one. How does one develop a strategy for investing in health care stocks when it seems like they can jump or drop 30-50% overnight with the success or failure of a drug trial or the boss saying let’s take another look at this old data we dismissed earlier? Risk management seems very difficult in this sector.
Thanks again for the insight.

Q: McDonald's Corp seems to have gone from a rock-solid blue-chip to a stock in free-fall in a very short time. Two senior analysts on BNN recently issued strong warnings against owning it. What do you think? What might be a good replacement for it for a 3-5 year hold?
Q: What’s your long term view of CRM please?
Thank you ,
Rick

Q: Hi Team,
I am looking to do a covered call strategy on growth stocks you like that have reasonably liquid options markets and high implied vol. What are your five favourite "long-term hold" CAD and USD stocks where such a strategy could be implemented?
Was looking at AYX as an example where you can create some interesting downside protection scenarios selling 1yr calls at strikes approximately 10% higher than current price that still give you a 20-35% total return if the stock rips higher through your strike.
Thanks

Q: Three months ago a .20 EPS quarter sent GSB to the $14's. Today, a .19 EPS quarter sent GSB to the $9's. Sales are up from last year, Gross Margin is up from last year, Costs are coming down, EPS is up over last year. They have zero debt, $13M in the bank, excellent FCF and high insider ownership. I can't see a problem with this company at all. Is the drop a "sell on news" story. The stock can be volatile and is a small cap security. Is it buyable in your opinion at these levels?

Q: Hi, Can I get your perspective on U.S. Real estate. I am looking at investing in the US REITS and was wondering if now is a good time. I am looking at the following companies as well as the VNQ . Do you think the US reits is a good area to look into seeing as the US economy seems to be doing well and interest rates are low. Thanks
Q: What are your thoughts on this ETF as a buying opportunity?
Q: What was the reason for the big drop in AYX yesterday?
Thanks.

Q: Hello Peter
I have 2 questions on Tax Loss Strategy:
1. Would they be good tax loss candidates as I am down 22% on SQ and down 25% on NFLX , then buy back after 30 days, or would you leave them where they are.
2. When selling stock to crystallize a loss how much can one allowed to moving stock
up before the back buying price offsets benefits of tax loss.
example: Bought NFLX at $358.98 sold at $269.40 which is 25% loss.
What max price could I back again after 30 days before it offsets my benefits of tax
tax loss.
Thanks Andrew

Q: Hello,
I ma looking for adding more exposure to US. What would be a good healthcare/Pharmaceutical ETF for RRSP. I have about 10K to invest for 10 years. I also own VUN, ZQQ and ZIN as part of US exposure.

Q: Can I please get your thoughts on AMTD? What percentage of revenues came from trading commissions? Do you think that revenue can be replaced by selling order flows or by other means in the short term (~18 months)?
The company seems to be incredibly profitable and has a large net cash position as well. The recent large drop appears overdone. I am considering purchasing a 4% long term position in a registered account for preferable dividend treatment. Thanks.
