Q: I'm helping my 65-year-old mother reallocate some funds (mostly diversifying and ditching debilitated oil stocks and mutual funds). Using about 3% of her funds, she would like to make a tech purchase (her first) for a long-term investment (5+ years) aiming at growth for this particular position. Following your recommendations, we are considering (a) Constellation (CSU), (b) Kinaxis (KXS) or (c) a mix of both. These are two great stocks and this is a nice moment to buy tech in general, but which of these three scenarios would be best right now?

Q: Hi 5i team,
You recently mentionned that you expect the downturn in the technology sector to be short lived, because it is one sector where investors can find growth, and that the down trend could/would/should be reversed when second quarter results start to be released. What companies (presumably in the USA) will start this release period in the technology sector and at what dates? Thank you, Eric

Q: I am underweight in Engh and have taken a hit on it since buying in at 60+. My tech holdings are a cumulative 18%. Would you recommend a full position now ( to 20%) after the big drop or sit on the sidelines. I have a long time horizon, and am wondering if the bloom is off the rose for Engh, or should I wait for the next quarterly earnings.

Thanks as always.

KC

Q: per your latest addition to the balanced portfolio, I plan to add CAE to my portfolio. To do this, however, I need to sell one of my other tech stocks. which amongst KXS,CSU,GIB.a,DSG,ENGH,CLS,OTEX would you suggest to sell at this time. All have a 2% weighting.
thanks

Q: Hi Team, One of the reasons I own these stocks is that each of them does a lot of business in the U.S. and I wanted that exposure. However, with the renegotiation of NAFTA I am concerned these companies may face some headwinds maintaining and growing their respective businesses. Trump's "buy american" could certainly force some U.S. companies to start looking for U.S. based partnerships rather than Canadian. What does the staff at 5iR think? Is 5iR recommending any action at this time for these types of Canadian companies? Thanks Team Chris

Q: I own FGD and I have made money by selling this stock quite a few times at different prices as high as 90 cents. I currently own 14000 shares which is about 3.5% of my portfolio and I am down 25%. When the price was higher the stock dod not make much revenue and the income was very low. The sales have been growing rapidly and the company is net income positive. Why would the stock tank when the news are actually more positive than before. The last time they issued stock was at 70 cents and the stock is trading at 44 cents. What are your views on this investment. Do you think it has potential like TNC. Thanks
