Q: Not sure which entity in the Brookfield group walked away from a loan obligation nor do I know the details. They along with PIMCO and Blackstone were mentioned on Bloomberg Wall Street week as entities that did this. I am very concerned about this. Could you share any details you might have on this.

Q: Do any Canadian banks have any direct relationship with SIVB that could affect their health and welfare?

-
The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation (BK $106.48)
-
Deutsche Bank AG (DB $37.16)
-
HSBC Holdings plc. (HSBC $68.65)
Q: Hi, what do you think of these names to take advantage of the pullback in the financial sector due to the SVB bust? Or would you just stick with JPM and BAC? I realize that not all these banks are exactly comparable. Thanks,
Jason

Charles Schwab Corporation (The) (SCHW $93.54)
-
SVB Financial Group (SIVB)
-
FIRST REPUBLIC BANK (FRC)
-
East West Bancorp Inc. (EWBC $109.38)
Q: Hi there, with the failure of SVB, many regionals have also been sold off, possibly unjustifiably. Do you see any current opportunities in the space that seem like good buys? SCHW comes to mind but wondering your thoughts or if there are any others that look good here.

Royal Bank of Canada (RY $199.63)
-
Toronto-Dominion Bank (The) (TD $106.32)
-
Bank of Nova Scotia (The) (BNS $87.74)
-
Bank of Montreal (BMO $174.93)
-
Canadian Imperial Bank Of Commerce (CM $109.59)
Q: Hi
In looking at the big 5 Cdn banks, it is easy to think they are all being somewhat affected by the SVB shut down, or pressure on US regional banks...or is that jumping to a far fetched conclusion? I see that the Cdn banks have been marching steadily lower lately and have started to wonder whether this is sector related or a fundamental change occurring. Although this may be a bit early in the game, at what point would you feel the Cdn banks are excellent bargains, or is that too optimistic a view of the Cdn banking system, vs the US's regional banking system? As always, I greatly appreciate your thoughts on this!

Q: Would you add? Current yield and price seem attractive if reaction to the SVB run was over done.

Q: In layman's English, could you explain why SVB went under and whether it will cause any lasting damage to Cdn Banks...and are there any Cdn banks you would add to today? Thanks, great service.
Q: What impact if any will the closure of SVB Financial have on UPST? Further, what do you think is the likelihood of a business failure for UPST? I also sold UPST for tax loss in December and have not decided whether or not to buy back, should investors stay away or is this a great opportunity? Thanks again,

Q: If you held Canadian banks today, would you sell, just continue to hold, or top up positions?
Q: Is this a buy, sell or hold? Thank you!
Q: What just happened to ZWK?
Q: Hi Team,
So...first the crypto banks start to fall. Now SVB bank looks to be collapsing, I have heard due to the impact of rapidly increased interest rates. What happened here? Should we be worried about a domino effect here similar to 2008? (hope not!) I typically thought high rates are "good" for banks...to the point where the economy starts to come to a standstill that is. Thanks for the insight.
shane.

Q: Is the sell off a good buying opportunity for BAC?
Q: Would JPM be a good time to buy now?
Q: Good morning, You guys keep raving about BN and say it is one of your top picks for a recovery in Cansda. Currently it is trading jot too far off it's fifty-two week low. Do u have any idea when the stock's recovery could begin to happen, or will lots of patience be needed, thanks?
Q: How does the recent agreement between XTM Inc and Payfare alter either company? Would this be a first step to Payfare absorbing XTM Inc? Do you see both companies as in a good space for growth and what do you foresee for 2023 and beyond?
Q: Please provide and updated opinion on Atrium Mortgage Investment Corp. I appears to have a fairly positive trend. Could this continue? How to interest rates rising affect companies like this.
Thanks,
Doug

Q: In view of today’s comments by US FED how would you value the US banks outlook for next quarter or two. I have 23% gain in the ZBK. Would you recommend reducing or sell the ETF to capitalize on its gain before it potentially loses the gain?

Q: I own SLF, BNS, BAM, BN, and GSY in the Financial sector. I am overweight in this sector by 3.42% and thinking to sell BAM with a current equity weight of 0.32% and profit of 56.67%. Additionally selling SLF at a current equity weight of 3.65% and profit of 1.65%. I want to keep it BNS, BN, and GSY due to the decline and losses of -13%, 19%, and 41% when waiting for the recovery. What do you think about this plan. Thanks in advance for your comments.
Q: I currently hold MS. I am considering selling MS and buying American Express. Would you recommend this trade?
