Q: Is it advisable to buy an ETF so late in the year
I remember?? reading an article regarding taxation on distributions, namely that you are taxed on the total years distributions, even though you have not received the entire years distribution if u purchase late in the year
Appreciate any clarification you can offer on this
Or should I wait till January 2025 to purchase?
Thank you again

Q: How do you fell about HXQ in a 15+ year RESP?
I have held RBF619 (Science and Technology for 15 years and it has done wonders but it has the fees. Any other ETF's ? ZSP? XIC? OR would you be comfortable with just BN?

Q: Hello
My GIC has just matured in my RRSP. The rates are low now and was thinking of putting the money in either of the above two ETFs which have a higher yield.
MNY has a higher interest but higher MER but better return overall however seems riskier then CASH. What would your suggestion be, would you have another favorite or would you invest in some other "safe" income instrument in the RRSP, ie ENB?

Thanks
Jeff

Q: I have some cash parked in HSAV and noticed that, for the past month, the trading there follows the same pattern, the price is up during the morning and mid-day and then drops at the end of the day. As a result, the price remained practically the same for the past month and the difference between the NAV and price is now down to only 20c. I am wondering what's going on with this ETF? Looks like some investors are doing massive selling there, do they know something I don't? Is HSAV is still you preferred "cash parking" ETF for people in high-tax bracket?

Q: CALF (81 %) has led IWO (50 %) and IJT (59 %) in 5-yr returns, yet has fallen behind the other 2 in 1-yr returns (about 11 % vs 30+ %). Can you please provide a reason for that and also comment on which might do better in the next few years? Thank you.

Q: I'm planning on purchasing some additional US investments in my RRSP. I already own QQQ, which represents approximately 38% of my US holdings. I was planning on dividing the remaining 62% between SPY and VTI. I'm described as a growth investor with a 5-7 time horizon before possibly beginning withdrawals. May I get your thoughts on this division? Should I consider cutting back on QQQ to redistribute to the other two? The US represents 45% of my overall RRSP holdings.

Q: Would you happen to know about a Canadian ETF that tracks the Canadian stock market minus gold, and another that does the same but minus all mining?
