Q: I have topped up my TFSA to the full allotted amount (since 2009) and am now ready to invest it in a simple way. What are your thoughts about an equal weighting in xiu, spy, vgk, vpl, vwo and xlu?
Thanks

Q: Your answer to the dividend ratio payout for IPL over the past six months is in the 85% range. Over the past couple of years has this ratio been increasing? For an income investor would you consider this dividend payout ratio getting to the area of concern and if so what dividend stock would you consider replacing IPL with either in the same sector or another sector.

Thanks,

Bob

Q: Hi 5i. I was interested in your reply today to Shyam regarding XLV, where you noted that it has had "better performance of late". My records show that XLV price has dropped steadily over the last 3 months by 6%.
This leads me to my question : We hold XLV and PSCH (Powershare Small cap Healthcare ETF) in our non-registered account (< 2% of our total equities). Our cap gains on these have been reduced from 15.8% to 8.9% (XLV), and 14% to 9.7% (PSCH) respectively over the last 3 months.
My theory is that these will continue to drop as we get ever-closer to the U.S. election. I am thinking of selling both of these ETF's while they still give us a reasonable profit of approx. 9 and 10% respectively, and then waiting out the election fallout before deciding whether to get back into Healthcare.
We would appreciate your comments. Thanks T.
p.s. PSCH did not come up in the "companies" list

Q: Because of the recent stock split, I have both class A and class C shares of Under Armour. Is there any reason to think that one class of shares will outperform the other? Or, put another way, Which class of shares should I sell first? Or is there any value in selling a equal portion of both and remain holding both classes of shares ?

Q: Hi,

I need to prune my financials and I am down to looking at DIV and AD. In looking at DIV, the question I ask is, "Would they have sold Franworks if they weren't confident that they had something in line to redeploy the cash into?" With AD, it is "When will they be able to get some resolution with troubled partners?"

In any otherwise balanced portfolio, which of the two companies would you choose to keep at this time?

Regards,

Robert

Q: Hi, this stock was recently added to Balanced Portfolio has dropped sharply from its recent highs.

New Flyer today closed at $37.83, which is off by about 15% from its recent high of $44.87, reached just after quarterly results. When Marco Polo decided to sell about half of its stake @ $40.40, the secondary issue was oversubscribed 3/4 times. In one of your recent comments also, this weakness was again attributed to one large seller.

It has been widely believed that lately NJ issue has been responsible for the depressed stock price. Today's weak backlog numbers and sequential decline in ECU deliveries besides lower after market sales have caused market to press the panick button resulting in another sharp drop.

My concern is that stock may not recover in near term and is even at the risk of losing more value. Should I bail and find better use of my capital? Thanks
