Q: I am looking at these 4 stocks for a combination of growth and income. Do you see any problem with these or do you have a better suggestion? Also, do you feel now is a good time to buy or would it be better to wait until summer is over?

Q: Hi, It appears from recent comments that you like this company a lot and it will be a favorite addition to your portfolios, when possible. I had a 4% position ( purchased at $37 and $41.50), but decided to trim over past 2 weeks. I believe that company has a solid growth profile for next 5 years, specially in municipal buses segment in US. They continue to receive large orders. But I am not sure of the recent purchase of motor coach business and its future prospects (could you comment pls). In addition, my other concern is insider selling. Coliseum Capital (L. Adam Gray) the 2nd largest shareholder of the co. has cut their holding by at least 25-30% over past 6 months and continues to do so, as recent as June 10 (243,300 shares @41.01). I think this could be a reason for stock unable to move out of $40- $41.50 range, for past several weeks, despite a very strong quarter and promising outlook. I would appreciate it if you could share your thoughts and is it prudent to wait to add to this stock . Thanks

Q: Peter and team:

I have done very well on both NFI and WEF (2x) in an RESP for my kids. First withdrawals will be in 2-3 years.
In your opinion should I sell both and re-invest in something less volatile, or hang on for the ride.
Also, what do you think of BMO low volatility funds (ZLB and ZLU) as options on a 2-3 year RESP.
Deduct a couple if you see fit. Thanks as always.

Q: Hello, I am trying to choose between NFI and SIS. Both of the stocks are releasing their earning reports in a few days. Do you have any thoughts or any knowledge on whether they will do well? I would appreciate some guidance as to which stock I should pick that would offer the best value and best potential in the future. Do you think I should maybe buy half NFI and half in SIS to spread my risk more evenly? Thanks.

Q: Hi 5i, I'm investing on my NEW TFSA, the stocks I'm thinking on choosing from are: PBH KXS ATD.B GUD NFI RRX OTC.
I would like to reduce the number of stocks to 4. Which one would you suggest I go with, for a 5 year investment, I would like to max my growth and I do not mind taking some risk.
Thanks

Q: I am curious as to what criteria is used for selecting companies for the various portfolios.
I realize that the criteria will be different with each portfolio and its purpose but my curiosity has been peaked by a stock that has never made any of your lists.
I realize that there are a limited number of spots with a limited number of portfolios and as such you must make choices as we all do.
In my case the curiosity was peaked by NFI which I have owned going back to the good old trust unit days and while my portfolio shows that I am up 260% all of the shares that I own are really free as I have taken all of my costs off the table, so to speak and I won't be trimming my holdings of it any more.
Since I have owned and followed the company for many years other than a very brief period of concern over the lack of American municipal finding for public transit, the company has had a full order book, been profitable, increased dividends and increased in value.
Never made your reports or portfolios hence my curiosity.
I has even survived being recommended by Gordon Pape although that effect may still linger!
So why wouldn't a company like that make a portfolio?
Thanks for the great service.

Q: As of the news regarding the purchase of MCI today, I hold approximately a half position in NFI. Of course, I wish I was holding more. As the acquisition looks to be a good addition for NFI, is it too late to bump up to a full position for a long-term hold? You've mentioned previously about buying momentum, and I'm wondering if this would be a good example for doing that, especially given the increased dividend and likely increased investor interest.

Thanks!

Q: Peter & Team. Would you take a 40%+ profit on NFI following the jump today on news of the acquisition of MCI? I must say this looks like a stunning deal for NFI. In its own back yard (Winnipeg), MCI is complementary, immediately accretive and at 6X EBITDA, cheap - and a nice dividend increase too!!. But the low ROI in NFI has also been less attractive on what I regards as the Tesla of the commuter bus industry. Would you sell on this good news?
