Q: Hi 5i, I'm moving money from my broker (40+ stocks, 500K) to a few ETFs (Equal Weight) , I'm considering the following ETFs: XIC, IWO, CDZ, SPY, FDN, and FIE; would you please help me choose four or five ETFs from the list, I'm looking for moderate growth, and of course preservation if capital.

Q: I am looking for a mid cap silver miner/producer but the only ones I know of are Fortuna, Tahoe and Endeavour. Do you have other suggestions that I may compare to these three. Thanks

Q: Hi All at 5i!!! I would like your advice. I would like to design a fixed , very, very (did I mention very?) conservative portfolio which will preserve my principle and earn me 4-5% income. This money will be held outside of a registered account. I own enough stocks, and do not want to add any more if I can help it. I own a good portion of the dividend aristocrats already. I understand that the taxation is not favorable outside of a registered account for fixed income and this may be a tall order considering how low interest rates are. Do you have any tools in your investment tool box to help me with this, and what would they be? Kind Regards, Tamara

Q: Hello,
Question about bonds, trying to figure out if buying bonds with ratings like BB or BBB would be a godod addition to my portfolio ( risk / return). Are there a lot of options for canadian companies ? What kind of yield should we expect for 3 / 5 year term ? Is it available through discount broker ? Is there a minimum amount per company and what kind of trading fee should we expect ? Any recommendations or sector suggestions are welcome. Thank you.

Q: There has been good appreciation in many Canadian healthcare names over the last while. When I look at RX I see a company with no debt, free cash flow, growing cash position, and moderate earnings growth. All the while it appears poised for a good q4 and trades at a relatively reasonable p/e compared to the sector. Is this stock poised to move higher at some point soon? Would you recommend it here? Thanks

Q: Good Evening
Yesterday when you answered Michael's question you referred of a Mr. Michael Cooper. My broker's site is showing that the CEO of this company is Jane Gavan.
I noted that the CEO has increased the number of shares held from 20,000 to 38,000 in a year. Is this a positive sign in holding the stock?
Furthermore do you have any figures with respect to the ownership percentage by the insiders of this company?
Would you view the insider activity as positive, negative or neutral for D.UN ?

Q: Due to recent bank stock valuation gains, I am over-weight in financials. My finance sector contains SLF and three banks; TD, BNS, and RY at 6.3%, 5.8% and 5.2% of my portfolio, respectively. I would like to reduce my bank ownership for portfolio balance and I am considering two options; bringing each of the stocks down to 4% each or selling one of the banks, say RY, outright. As background, a full position for me is around 5%. My question, which of the two options would you prefer? And if it is option 2, which bank should I sell? Thanks.

Q: Is this still a strong hold ... or has it deteriorated to a tepid one? Everything seems a bit lacklustre on its future, judging from the recent replies you've made to other members. Perhaps I'm misinterpreting, but your answer to Colum on Mar 1st suggested, in a roundabout way, that "it's time to dump this loser". I'm down 26% and wonder what it would take to inject some life into this company?
