Q: How much more runway do these stocks have, or have I already missed the party? How would you rank these in terms of your confidence in their stock performance?

I realize for numerous reasons gold is gaining in favour. Some gold believers theorize that is will go to $3-4000.00 per ounce in the next 3 years. Let's look at a hypothetical situation. Say things continue to unfold in golds favour and it does rise to say $2500.00 in the next three years. I realize you do not have a crystal ball...but what might be a conservative upside for a company like HMY. I am thinking that the profit margin between $1800.00 and $2500.00 must be significant. I suspect the whole sector would rise ...some more than others. So please give me your prognosis for this company going forward on the premise that gold is going higher.

Q: Good morning.

I would be interested in your thoughts about CTLT which was last addressed in Q&A in Dec 2019. It seems to be in a sweet space of the logistics and delivery of COVID-19 vaccines; it has contracts with JNJ and AZN; and Argus has a $100 price target on it. Worthwhile to purchase as a compliment to the big pharma companies themselves or are there better options in the same space?

Q: Hello 5i,
I hold TRI as a Canadian Equity. If I journal it over to my USD account, would this serve to change my Asset Allocation for purposes of portfolio re-balancing - i.e. reduce my Canadian Equity and increase my U.S. Equity accordingly? Held within an RRSP for what it's worth.
If so, I can only assume this would apply to all dual-listed equities?
P.A. shows I need to increase my U.S. equity by about 6.70% so am looking at options.
Also, what are your thoughts on QQQ versus any individual component in the FAANG category? I am underweight Tech in general.

Q: Hi, my wife has some cash sitting in a Corporate account and we are looking to invest the funds in stocks. I know you can invest in ETF's, stocks, bonds, etc. but can you tell me what kinds of stocks are best to invest in, considering taxes, withholding taxes, etc. Is it better to invest in growth stocks or dividend stocks, US or CDN stocks? What are some other factors to consider? We are well diversified in our personal accounts and looking for long term growth. Thanks for all your help!

Q: I was disappointed in your answer to Andrew on June 30th regarding GIL. I too bought GIL based on your rating and recommendation (B+). I subscribe to 5i to help simplify my investment decisions, and do not expect to have to look for other subtle clues such as portfolio weight etc to assess how you actually feel about a stock. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect clarity, and timely updates of prior ratings if sentiment changes.

Q: Nextech AR Solutions Corp has developed a partnership with Fastly and they have developed a break through in video security. I take it this means that they are working together on it. I am considering taking a small position in Nextech and I’m wondering what your thoughts are on the company with respect to their product or products and financially. I believe that with the Covid problem a lot of companies are going to be getting a lot more attention. I doubt we will not be going back to the same World as before and some companies will be big beneficiaries..
A second question - I believe that Zoom was having some security problems earlier this year and I was wondering what they did to correct that and did they do that on their own or did they have another company assist them?

Q: After watching Tesla from the sidelines (sadly) for too long, I would like to start an investment in the EV "sector". I am thinking about a basket approach and would appreciate your opinion on a few that I know of and any others that you may suggest.
Workhorse, WKHS; Arcimoto, FUV (does not pop up on your site), Nio inc, NIO; Nikola Motors, NKLA; Kandi Technologies, KNDI; and of course, Tesla, TSLA. I realize that some if not all of these may be speculative and require a long time frame but I do believe that there is an EV revolution coming and I would like to be part of it as both an investor and a consumer. Do any of them have serious red flags?
Is there a very specific ETF that might be an easier way to go? Any thoughts on whether Rivian might go public any time soon? Should GM be on the list perhaps?
