Q: •Foreign property held within registered plans like RRSPs, LIFs, RRIFs, LIRAs, TFSAs, RESPs and RDSPs. As to my understanding if I have over $100000 in u.s. stocks held in one of the accounts above I do not have to report it on cra form 1135..hopefully that gives this question more clarity ...thanks

Q: I own HEWJ and ZDM as my International exposure (5% of my portolio). Neither are doing well, especially after the Brexit vote and I'd like to replace them with ETFs with a more positive outlook for the next 2-3 years. Your thoughts and recommendations please!

Q: Good morning,

I own GWO and IFC for an aggregate position of about 3.5% in my portfolio. What do you recommend as a guideline allocation for "insurance" in one's portfolio?
If I'm low at 3.5%, would you recommend I add to my existing holdings or initiate a position in Sun Life?

Thank you,
Robert

Q: I have been doing research but am not getting the answer i require. How much u.s. stock exposure can we have in rsp and lira accounts and not be subject to u.s. capital gains tax. I have heard about $100000 u.s. dollars as a threshold but cannot find that for sure. Could you enlighten me on this matter.

Q: Can you give me your thoughts on Jerome Hass, and the Lightwater Funds, both the Nimble Fund, and the Long/Short Fund? Do you know him? Have you heard of any problems or issues with the company, and can you comment on the pair trade approach? To me, it seems like a logical way to mitigate market and sector risk. Thanks for your help.

Q: Peter and team:

I am currently down about 20% on TFI in a well balanced long term hold portfolio.
I am considering cutting my losses and buying NFI. Would you consider these in the same "sector", and what is you opinion of this switch.
My concern is how much upside is left in NFI. I have owned it in my kids RESP and done well (2.5x), but am wondering how much "growth" is left.

Than you as always for a great service!

Q: Hi Peter
Don't publish this if you don't think it is appropriate.

Last night I went to the Cineplex and bought tickets for the new Tarzan movie. It was in 3-D and had the new D-Box technology. The two tickets cost $43.00 without food or drink.
I found the seat jerking up and down and sideways very annoying. Probably just me, but if anyone is thinking of investing in the technology they should go try it out first. Luckily I could turn it off. Good, fun movie otherwise.
