Q: Hi Team,
At the time of this question PRL is up approx 6% and GSY 3%. Just wondering if there is anything sector related to account for the positive move today being that both these names are moving up together today? GSY is finally starting to build some steam...any comments? Perhaps share buybacks at GSY?

Thanks,
Shane.

Q: Hello, I have held Northland for 20 years, gradually building a full position, but it is now coming back to my average cost. I understand renewables are not trendy these days, so should I 1) hold on to it, 2) add to it (no longer a full position now) or 3) let it go. FYI, I also have BEPC in renewables and EMA and FTS as utilities as well. It is part of a dividend portfolio and the div is good…Thanks!

Q: Hi everyone,

I have a hard time using the MARKET DATA to compare similar companies. For example, which ratios would you use for NVDA, AMD, MU, and others in the same space if you wish. It would be nice to have the same info for other industries, so we might be a bit more self-reliant . P/E are sky-high these days and seem not to matter anymore. Thanks.

Q: In the last 12 months, the canadian dollar has fallen on average about 72 cents to now under 70 cents approximately, therefore if I understood the hedge vs unhedged issue correctly, VSP should have outperformed VFV. it looks like the complete opposite in 1 year returns. Why is that ?

Q: Hello 5i Team,

Looking into your crystal ball for 2025, is this the year for AMD to finally show some stock price appreciation? I have held it for several years now, and am still underwater by over 12%.

I’m losing some patience, considering the relative growth in NVIDIA (which I’ve done exceptionally well with and still hold, thanks to 5i). I notice that in recent questions, some 5i members also hold AMD, and I’m wondering if you guys are not losing patience, as well?

Do you have three other tech or AI-related picks (any cap size) that you have a much stronger conviction in than AMD, for a three-year hold? Or, is there a potential catalyst on the horizon that might indicate staying the course with AMD?

Thanks very much,

Brad

Q: Would you consider Revenue Growth the leading indicator of a companies liklihood to succeed and grow its share price provided properly managed?

Seems todays most successful stock market darlings have all had tremendous revenue growth albeit not necessarily Profitable during their early days of rapid Revenue growth.

If I were to look for 2 or 3 US and Canadian Mid Cap companies most likely to lead the rest of the market with staggering Revenue growth over the next 2-5 years which do you think these might likely be?

Q: I currently own the above ETFs in my unregistered account and they have performed well. I have funds to be invested in my LIF account and am considering purchasing one or more ETFs. How would you rank these ETFs for a LIF account? Would you suggest equal contributions to these ETFs? Are there other ETFs that you would recommend for a LIF account? Thank you.

Q: Hi 5i - what would be your top dividend paying stocks (minimum 4% yield) to invest in at the moment? My ENB position is getting too large, so would like to trim.

Thanks, Neil

Q: Trump has said he will suspend leases for wind projects, onshore and offshore. A couple of questions in re BEPC

1. how much of BEP's projects (including those in development ) are wind

2. Of their wind projects, what proportion is in the US?

3. Given the huge ("unstoppable") demand for electrification, plus the fact Trump is not the customer buying it, does it really matter what Trump says about wind?

In short, how much damage can Trump do to my BEP stock?

Q: Good day,

I've picked up the above on 5i recommendations, and they started as small positions, but have done very well TVK+150%, VRT+200%, POWL +120%, and 3 months on CLBT+45%. I had a bit of usd in my TFSA and put it in CLS last week, already +20%. I assume much of that due to Trumps 'promises'.

Now that these small positions have become as much as say, my initial purchase amount on BAM, is this a thing that one adds to, since my initial buy was lower? Or now that it's a larger position you just let it ride? With 5is help and my own dd, I've been doing very on my winners:losers ratio, but have a hard time determining what is a good point to add in. Are these names worth adding to before they report next? Please rank in order with which you would add to.

Cheers,

James

Q: I am looking at rebalancing my portfolio. I am currently overweight Tech and financials and underweight health care, Consumer Discretionary, and Communication.

Can you please provide suggestions on which of the tech stocks you would recommend trimming (maybe Apple? priced as a growth stock but not growing much?) and which of the listed health stocks (or other) would you recommend starting a position in?

Thank you!

Peter
