Q: Good morning. I currently have a small postion in VMET. They have news this morning on upgrading their US and Canada Listings. What is 5i's view of VMET today? Thanks.
Q: Do you know what % of the companies sales come from Costco? I understand they are finished a $1B capital spend having expanded production facilities in the US. I know they are on the cusp of large anticipated cash flow increases from the expansion. Will producing there largely shield them from tariffs? Would you buy it now? What are the risks? Debt? Thank you.
Q: Please comment on TRP valuation and outlook in the $71’s. The stock is doing well despite many negatives including: a PE near 20x (historically high?), a forecasted decline in EPS over the next 2yrs, a massive debt load which keeps rising, and uncertainty in Analyst estimates (evidenced by a wide target price range). I’m looking at lightening any riskier positions heading into fall and I expect at best TRP is a Hold.

Q: It looks like job losses in the US and Canada will increase the likelihood of interest rate cuts. The former suggest bad things going on in the economy, the latter tends to be good for stocks. Can you comment on how those factors might play out for the markets in the coming year?

Q: Good day, 5i If you invested funds in CMR (no trade commission) is it ok to sell some of the invested money on the next day? Thank you for your help.
Q: Dear Peter et al:
Everyone including yourselves talk about 7+ T USD on the sidelines when a question about market correction is asked. This money will step in and protect the markets from a crash. That seems to be the
thesis here.
But the huge cash reserves of big companies, (BRK for example) pension funds and various PE firms
(listed and unlisted) have ALWAYS
been a feature in the market, no?.Even during the bull or bear
market this Cash on the sidelines has been a constant, right?
So, the question is what is the range of cash on the sidelines? Can this cash on the sidelines act as a " metric" to signal Bull or Bear market?
(Just like your thesis on VIX. 40+ means buying time).
In simple terms what should be the "Normal" cash on the sidelines?!

Q: Follow up question
If there is no premium for Teck why would management agree to takeover deal. Can you please give us the details of the deal is there a stock deal or cash and stock
If we consider the special dividend Anglo plans to shareholders prior to closing (which will impact the value of shares received as they will decline post-dividend) the deal is essentially at a 0% premium to TECK shareholders. The market is making the assumption that there will either be another offer or new bidders. Thus, we would hold for now.
Thanks for your advice
