Q: Reviewing my portfolio for year end and find myself low in industrials. I currently hold the above stocks and would like your opinion on whether I should increase any or all of the above (currently all equal weighting) or add to this list?

Q: I'm 84 and invest for income with some growth. We have full positions on 23 holdings in our joint account, with a value of over $900G. I'm considering trimming some of the loftier positions and taking a half position in AFN for income and growth. It is a rather small company but seems to have good prospects in Asia. Can I have your comments on AFN. Thanks, Ted

Q: I own AFN.DB.A and CGX.DB.A convertible debentures, both of which reach a "hard call" date on Dec 31, 2017. How likely are they to be called? If called, are they likely to be redeemed with cash or with common shares?

Q: I am retired living off dividend income. I am building my portfolio based on your income portfolio. However, I am not interested in index or bond funds.
Can you recommend 3-4 income stocks that are looking most attractive at current prices and yielding +4% that are not in the income portfolio to replace the index/bond funds?

Q: AFN has been extremely volatile of late, especially today, down mid day approx 3.5% despite a good market day. They just recently announced what appears to be a good acquisition, and they pay a good dividend. Do you know what is the cause for such negative volatility, and the setting back of the share price over the past few weeks?

Q: The fundamentals I get from CIBC on the company look awful: FPE 26x, ROE is terrible, debt is high at 1.5x Equity or so, P.R. is 4 digits - how can they sustain the very nice dividend and grow it over time? They must have a heck of a lot of non-cash write offs like depreciation, maybe goodwill etc.. Comments please. I'd like a company like this for diversification; but, this one looks like it is way ahead of itself based on positive sentiment NOT fundamentals.

Q: My portfolio is light on industrials as I only own wsp and sis. What else could I add? I'm not comfortable with nfi as I find it expensive. What are 4 or 5 names that you like in the industrial sector. Would a rail company be a good idea as I beleive they fall under industrials.
