Q: Hi 5i!
What can you tell me about a company called Avangrid (AGR:US).
Any company info would be great along with their fundamentals.
How would it compare to BEP, AQN, BLX, INE etc.?
Would it be something to invest in for 3 to 5 years at this time?
Or would you prefer the other companies named above?

Thanks.

Q: I have 4 questions:

1. I have not diversified my assets outside the TSX and would like to do so. Between a TFSA, an RRSP, and non-registered account, which is best to purchase US stocks (for tax purposes)?

2. If I wanted to buy an ETF on the TSX for US exposure, what would be a good one?

3. If I wanted to buy an ETF (also on the TSX) for exposure to emerging markets, what would be a good one?

4. Would you buy an emerging markets ETF in your TFSA, RRSP, or non-registered account?

Thank you for answering my questions. The information you provide is very valuable.

Best wishes,
Terri

Q: My question is about utilities but we could extend it to any enterprise - it really deals with governments not letting the (often painful) market forces of capitalism take over. I'm not some kind of anti-government fanatic but I know true (unfortunately painful-now) market forces are being and will be suppressed more by cash-strapped governments facing a popular backlash.

I've come across a story where the British government may turn to forcing regulated utilities to accept lower profitability and thus lower dividend payouts to help keep utility bills down for the consumer.

Utilities may argue they can't provide reliable services without higher rates but it seems any company delivering 4-8%+ dividends wouldn't get much sympathy from cash-starved governments in a sub 1% interest rate environment.

With rising political pressure from financially strapped consumers would governments view regulating profits of utilities, banks and others as a great way to boost their popularity?

Q: Hello 5i Team
Comparing the top four companies in the the waste disposal business.
Ranking in terms of market capitalization (US$) is WM ($45.0B) , RSG ($27.1B), WCN ($26.9B) and GFL ($6.2B).
Ranking in terms of dividend yield is WM (2.04%) , RSG (1.90%), WCN (0.72 %) and GFL (0.20 %). All companies declare their dividends in US$ and WCN / GFL are eligible Canadian dividends.
The after tax yield on the US domiciled companies (WM and RSG) is higher than the Canadian domiciled companies (GFL and WCN).
1 - Overall, regardless of country domicile, please rank the companies in order of preference and why?
2 - Which is the better Canadian company WCN or GFL from a growth perspective as the yield is minimal?
3 - Any other companies that I should review?
Thank you

Q: I don't currently have any exposure to health care/pharma companies and would like to start building a position in 2 or 3 companies. Can you please provide me with some names that you would recommend in this area, and the reasons why you think they are good investments.

thanks

Q: First question on this company (V.BABY). It's a food and nutrition company that focuses primarily on infants, toddlers and children. In the last 6 weeks, it has picked up serious momentum as it has obtained clean label certifications, USDA organic certifications and retail broker agreements in preparation for the initial launch of its products in the US.

Q: Fortunately I have been forced into retirement and I do not have to worry about when to take the leap. I am balancing out my portfolio with a strong income focus. My portfolio is approximately 50/50 register and unregistered and I am carrying a large capital loss forward. Which of the above ETF's would be better off in an unregistered account?

Thank you
