Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: Can you do a quick compare/contrast for these 3?
Do you place more emphasis on royalty or stream approach?
I was leaning towards SSL, on a 5+ year chart it is below the others, could it "catch up"?

Thanks,
TJ

Q: What is the best way to buy physical gold and to hold it in an account as allocated gold, without taking delivery, and thus preserving the custody trail? Are there tax implications if the value of the gold goes up? Is it possible to hold the gold in a TFSA?

If this is several questions, please deduct credits as appropriate.

Q: I'm interested in these ETF themes, how would you rank them long term? Do you see any overlap between ICLN and LIT? And if I wanted to go the individual stock route instead of the ETF, what would be your top two individual stock picks within each ETF (either cad or us listed). Thank you!

Q: Looking to add a position to my materials sector. Currently own NTR, MX, LIF. This would be held in my dividend focused non-registered portfolio and would be a long term investment. looking for a company with good dividend and financial strength to withstand volatility in the sector. A company with base metals exposure would compliment my existing holdings.
Although Lundin has had some problems I am wondering if the recent price declines presents a good long term buying opportunity. Other recommendations welcome.

Q: Hi team
I made a sizable gain of KL (non registered account) over the long term, now that there is a chance of merging with AEM
if I decided to let the stock of KL merge with AEM; do I have to pay capital gains?

as there is very little premium of AEM to take over the KL, is there a good chance
that the shareholders of KL would reject the take over? thanks
Michael
