Q: How big are the short and option positions on Palantir? Considering the heavy trading volume the last few days is it possible this name could see a short squeeze stampede and slaughter such as Gamestop on Monday?

Q: With the moron CEO resigning for skipping the line (can you believe?) does this add any jeopardy to this deal being successfully completed, or does it make no difference?
Thanks

Q: Do you think Telus International will be a good investment, or is there not enough info to go on now?
If you see potential, should I buy Telus common shares right now, or wait for the offering of the new shares?
I don't have much in the way of telecom presently.
Thanks
John

Q: Hi 5i,
We have an opening in our TFSA for a growth stock. If you were to choose a stock today for 2021 which stock would you select in the US or CDN market? If we have it we will add to it, if not, we will purchase the stock.
Thank you in advance for your reply.
Cheers,
Debbie and Jerry

Q: In a $700000 plus portfolio, cash, TFSAS & RRIFs I own the following securities in the indicated percentages.
AQN-4.1%;BAM.A- 3.27: BEPC-2.08: BNS-3.69:
BYD-3.79: CAE-4.22: CAR.UN-3.6: EIF-4.13: ENB-3.1: GSY-4.73: KXS-2.6:LSPD-10.11: MG-3.36: PBH-3.37: SLF-2.5: T-3.79: TFII-2.94: THNK-1.55: VFV-3.67: VGG-7.94: WELL-4.14: WSP -4.28: CRWD -3.51: VEEV-4.47: Cash-5%.
Took profit and reduced positions in TFII and KXS. To deploy this cash, are there any undervalued securities that you would consider as an appropriate addition to this portfolio? I think that growth and value can be synonymous.
What are your thoughts on CRWD. Would you continue to hold it or look for better opportunities elsewhere. If so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Q: Hello 5i team, I need to assemble a large amount of U.S. dollars (~$25,000 for an investment near and dear to your hearts). I have used Norbert's Gambit for smaller conversions in the past, which works fine except that I'm sometimes tempted to 'play trader' and to time my transactions to pick up some extra dollars. But for this large transaction, I don't want to mess around. I know I can do the gambit with any interlisted stock, but I would prefer to reduce or eliminate the risk of a price move against me. Can you recommend a good investment vehicle for this purpose? Also, can the buy and sell be done the same day, or do brokers require the first buy trade to settle before I can do the sell on the US side? Thank you!
Q: Hello team, while I'm generally a buy-and-hold investor, I've actually done well in the past several months by buying Raytheon when it has a significant drop (to $50s or low $60s) and selling it after it quickly bounces up nicely into the $70s. It is again dropping towards the low $60s - and I do like the company and could be comfortable holding this longer term, for post-pandemic growth, etc.. Would you be keen on this stock for a longer term hold if one can pick it up in the low $60s? Thank you!
Q: Looking to buy clothing retail stock as there will be pent up demand post pandemic
Which of these 2 stocks do you prefer? ......Do you have another favourite
I have 5 yr horizon; ok with moderate risk

Q: What are your thoughts about investing in an ETF such as CARS as an intro. to the electric vehicles market? Thanks.
Q: Given the high price of CSU shares, I am wondering how many investors like me are out there - those that held between 5 and 30 shares CSU shares which resulted in our receiving a rather insignificant number of Topicus shares. If your predictions of $50 per Topicus shares holds, do you anticipate there being a large number of small odd-lots of Topicus shares being sold and if so, will this depress the IPO price? Or are most CSU shares owned by institutions and large investors and us retail investors, therefore, won't move the needle? (Personally, I wish we would have received cash instead)
Appreciate your insight.

Q: Hi 5i
I have been considering taking a position in BYND. 1- 2 year hold. However it is up 20 % today. Do you have any idea why? Could it have anything to do with the 'short squeeze" action that seems to be going?
Would you be interested in this stock at this time? Any red flags?
Thx
Jim

Q: When mutual funds and ETF'S show there annual returns are they net of all fees? So if a mutual fund has a higher MER but out performs a lower fee ETF it would be obviously better to go with the Mutual fund if history shows better returns even if it's only say 0.5 %. Not guaranting future returns of course. Is this why you like recommending Mawer funds!

Q: I'm curious to know how the current shareholders of T are going to benefit from the pending sale of the TI unit. I get that T winds up with a big bag of cash and call me grumpy but I'm guessing there'll be sizeable bonuses for the very capable execs who put this together. What does the common shareholder get, other than a stronger company? The company was already strong and much loved, enjoying a deep regulatory moat. What do they plan to do with the proceeds and will those plans likely ( or even maybe) cause share values to increase appreciably? Any chance the commoners who were owners all along will get a special dividend or a dividend increase or even a cup of coffee? Just cause we're swell guys, and gals. Grump, grump.
Q: Hi group Mx getting slapped (ongoing over last 3 weeks after factory shut down - looking like run for the hills your comments on buy sell hold. please
