Q: Given the attack by Trump on financial regulation in the US, do you think it is a good time to add companies like goldman sacs and wells fargo or perhaps Jpm to my portfolio. Thanks.

Q: Cdn energy stocks have recently sold off much more than oil largely due to concerns of a potential Trump border tax. What probability would you give this of actually occurring and do you believe the current sell-off already reflects the potential risk? Further, pipelines have declined significantly in recent days as well. Could they also be subjected to or impacted by a border tax and is this likely the reason for the recent decline? Thanks.

Q: Hi folks,almost to embaressed to admit still own some Concordia,but company issued n/r:Concordia International Corp. Makes Final Earn Out Payment to Cinven,Today's payment of £72 million, plus interest of approximately £1.5 million, was paid with cash on hand.But a poster stated,"Had to raise 9.5% 1st lien bonds to pay the earn out. Hardly a good sign.". Could I please get your opinion on todays news and future of company going forward, at least Trump yesterday seemed to throw an olive branch at pharma companies that he would work with them and not bury them. Q: Lately there’s been a profusion of articles warning about the deeply negative effect Trump’s policies might have on Canada, with respect to trade agreements, taxes on imports, foreign investment shifting from Canada to the USA, etc. To the extent an investor should be influenced by this new outlook, I was wondering if you could list the sectors and associated companies in Canada which you think would be hurt the most if the dire warnings come true, and which ones would be the most resilient. Also, are there any particular foreign investments Canadians should be considering at this time? Let’s assume a time horizon of at least four, and possibly eight, years. Thanks for your insights.

Q: Hi,

I have held fairfax for several years, primarily as a hedge against negative market events. With the trump election win, and the unwinding of many of fairfax's bearish hedges, it now seems to trade much more in lock step with my other financials (bfs, slf, ry). Do you still feel fairfax offers a good hedge against negative market events? If not, what you would generally recommend in it's place?

Q: Am considering adding a half position of each to my wife's TFSA. She already owns ALA, BCE, CPG, and RY. What do you think of their future earnings next quarter? Would you suggest another alternative to either one?

Q: What are your thoughts on these? With more pipelines likely going through under Trump, pipeline service/camp companies will likely have a great upside. Is here something similar that you would recommend instead? Which of these do you prefer since I think they're fairly similar (correct?)

Among the other projects are the $3 billion Atlantic Sunrise project in Pennsylvania, delayed in March, and the $3 billion Jordan Cove LNG project in Oregon, rejected in March. The $700 million Gateway Pacific coal terminal was rejected in May, and the PennEast Pipeline, in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, was delayed in March. The $5.1 billion Atlantic Coast Pipeline in West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina was delayed in April.

Q: Peter & Co,
Crius Energy had a Q3 loss of $0.14 per share while sporting a 9.15% dividend yield. This doesn't make sense to me. Are my numbers incorrect? Is this level of dividend sustainable? Do you think the solar component of the company will be a major drag on earnings in Trump's USA?
