Q: Good morning. I have a half position in ATD in my RRIF that is the only under performer. I would like to sell it and open a position in gold. I'm not sure whether to buy a producer, a streamer or an ETF. I could add funds and buy 1 full position, or buy 2 of the above categories. Your thoughts and suggestions for tickers would be welcome. Thanks in advance. David

Q: Might buy a house, probably won't buy a house. Prices so high, I've been maxout out the FHSA so far and it's mostly in VEQT, bit of PLTR and CRWD which have done well. What other US or CAD stock would you recommend (shorter term BUT will leave it in there longer if market goes down/ ultimately could convert to RRSP) that is underpriced and or could have huge potential upside. Imagining turning the FHSA $40,000 limit into ... ideally a $200,000 down pmt over the next 3-10 years

Q: Recently 5i answered a member’s question on appropriate gold weightings in a portfolio:
“ We like physical gold as 'insurance' against unknown events and inflation. On average, we would see a 5% bullion weighting, combined with a 5% gold stock weighting, as about right for the current economic climate.”
Just to clarify- 5i’s opinion is that the current climate supports an investment portfolio having 10% of total equity in gold split evenly between producers and bullion, correct? (Not asking for specific advice here)
Thanks,
Trevor

Q: CIBC doesn't seem to get much attention & love compared to the other Canadian banks . I know it had challenges in the past (e.g. 10 years ago), but they managed through it and from what I can see, it has been a solid & consistent performer since then. So, what's up?
Q: In reviewing my various investment portfolios (RRSP, TFSA, Non-Reg), I realized that have no exposure to the Real Estate (R/E) sector in any of them (residential or commercial). My impression is that R/E hasn't been a particularly strong performer over the last 4 or 5 years (really since COVID), so perhaps the gap in my portfolios hasn't really been much of a hindrance. Would you be buying into the sector right now & why? And if so, what 3 to 5 investments (i.e. companies / funds / REITs) would you recommend for long term growth (& perhaps some income) and why? Thank you.

Q: NVDA has now grown to 8% of my portfolio and I am considering paring it back down (again) to 5%. I don't have any crypto exposure, so am looking at investing the freed-up funds in HOOD. This would bring my investment in financials to just over 30%. I know you can't comment on individual allocations, but if this were your portfolio and you already held BN, BAM, X, V and HMAX...would you be concerned about putting too many eggs in the same basket? Or would you feel there is sufficient diversity within the already-held funds to add HOOD? Thank you.
