Q: When they say have Reits with a high valuation,do you look at cash flow,pe ratio ,debt or all of the above.Could you give examples of some high and low Reit valuations ?
Q: Please give me your opinion on the following exchange offer I received in the mail today. P & G is offering to convert each dollar value of their common stock into $ 1.075 worth of Galleria Company stock. Galleria Company is then going to merge with a sub of Coty corporation called Green Acquisition Sub Inc. It will be called Galleria company and will be a sub of COTY. It appears the company is spinning off their beauty division.
Q: What are your thoughts on FTR? Should be doing better with almost a 10% yield but there's never a free lunch. I'm wondering about the VZ assets integration and debt incurred...thanks for your service!
Q: Westshore seems to be recovering from the January lows and earnings appear robust despite the negativity around coal. Jimmy Paterson is buying into the company and owns just shy of 9%. Can you confirm this? More importantly how would you rate WTE in the current market and going forward?
Q: I'm exploring the possibility of a half position in GEI. Where does Gibson go from here? Is the company in a position to pick up quality assets during this time of consolidation because of low oil prices? Is there any reason why the dividend will be reduced in the short term?
Q: Currently gold is about 2% of my holdings. Half is TMAC, the rest split between Osisko and Roxgold. The miners are both in advanced pre-production.
I am looking to go overweight gold for the next 4-5 months. Possibly as high as 12-15%. I think seasonality may get a boost from India, whose markets and monsoon have been very good this year. And I want TTT (Trump Temper Tantrum)insurance in place well before Nov 8.
Can you put fwd a short list of producers and royalties that you think would do best in a rising price environment in that time frame. (Please note, ROX's asset is in Burkina Faso, where most of SMF's are.)
Q: Peter, I've read a couple of recent positive recommendations on Cascades. I just sold my Teck at a tidy profit (it was hard to resist after being down over 80% earlier this year!) but this leaves me with very little in the way of materials. Do you think CAS is a decent decision for a long-term TFSA hold? Would you still prefer Boralex, despite its climb? Or would you have another 'growthy' option for this part of my portfolio. Thanks!
Q: Should I sell my MBT shares now or wait until the approval is received from the Federal Government for the BCE takeover of them and receive BCE shares?
Q: I have held a position in FCU for a few years, but it is not doing too much. I know it is a long term play, but wondering if it is still safe. Also, do insiders hold much of the stock?
Q: I am interested in parking funds in this product. Would you endorse it. Is the settlement to buy or sell on the third day. With market sell could I lose more than 1 cent on the spread.
Thank-you
Best Regards
Harold
Q: Hi All !!! I enjoyed the various presenters at the money show on Saturday. I miss Ellen's presentation. Will it be available at a later date? Now to my question. What would you consider a better long term hold in US$ ,...QQQ or IWM? Or a combo of both? Which is the better value at present? Thank you , Tamara
Q: good morning:
just wondering if you would classify bep.un, bip.un , ala,
Enbridge in the same sector as emera.
I own all these stocks but am looking at emera.
the rest make up about 15% of my portfolio.
thanks
Q: Hi there, as a follow up to your response regarding SCB, would today's news regarding CXI license also be positive for SCB? Maybe that's why SCB has been moving up as of late, as pending license's are going to be approved finally! Reading between the lines, people in the know may be positioning themselves! Your take would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Q: Hello Peter & team, I hold shares of BIP.un in my account and I know that the stock has splitted 3:2 last week. My online broker account reflects the new BIP.un share price but it doesn't show the new number of shares. It actually shows the exact same number of shares that I had before the split. Is it because it takes the online broker some time to make the adjustments? Thanks, Gervais
