Q: Gentlemen; I have been fortunate to have bought a position in Newmarket Gold which is up over 13% today. In reading their latest press release, I find their drilling results are almost too good to believe.

Q: This is a follow up to my September 20th question re Proctor and Gamble's offer re Galleria Company and beauty division spinoff. Can you explain the pro-rate allocation you mentioned. I was expecting $1.075 in Galleria Company stock in exchange for $1 of P & G stock. Is there a possibility of more, considering your comment on the majority of people tendering, due to the 7% discount. When you say "yes" to the offer were you also suggesting one would keep the Galleria stock, or simply flip it and go back into P & G.

Q: Since being removed from 5i's model portfolio MDA has tumbled about 8% on strong volume. I'm not sure if there's a connection here or just coincidence, or some other reason for the decline? I wonder if you agree with TD's analyst consensus of Q3 earnings expected to be flat at $1.51 compared to 2015 and a revenue rise to $542 MM from 515? I exited this position when you did, now looking to re-enter. Thanks, J.

Q: Hi I've done well this year: up almost 17% year to date. Thanks to mostly your BE stocks. I'm thinking maybe I should hedge my portfolio somewhat to protect the gains. What do you think of the us etf HDGE. It doesn't seem to have the difficulties of other bear etfs with their daily decay rate.
Or would you just ride the portfolio through the inevitable cycles of downs and ups?

Q: Would this stock be considered interest rate sensitive, and is it a buy at current levels? Thank you.

Q: Do all above companies fall under Industrial? My total weight is 13% Is this too high? I feel that I have too many companies in this sector and may be better to have only 4-5? STN and WSP are similar so would it be better to sell one of these and add to the names that are listed. I am also thinking of selling ET and taking the proceeds to add to the other names now leaving me with 5. Is this a good approach?

I recall that the yield on "VE" was over 4% several months ago and is now showing as just under 2%. The distributions seem to change quarterly? Hoping you can shed some light on the proper way to understand the yield on this etf.

Q: Hi Peter, I have $8k of Advantex Senior SEC non-convertible debentures RSTD 05/01/2014 Coupon 12% maturing 30 Sep 2016 left over from my former advisor. I've tried calling but can't find out what will happen 30 Sep. Is there anything your sources indicate ? Thank you, and pls post if there's value to anyone else.

Q: I have learned a lot and benefited greatly from 5i advice, and take particular benefit from your diversified portfolio approach. Would you say it is fair to identify any market analyst, including the 5i group, as having a particular specialization being an area of strength and certain market segments being areas of weakness or minimal depth? For example, analysts who are good at identifying software companies but less aware of details required to be successful in healthcare field. If you agree, which areas would you claim are 5i's areas of strength and which are the segments of less depth of knowledge.
In view of constructing a diversified portfolio, I am looking to draw information from a variety of sources. Your comments would help guide the relative importance to assign to difference sources.
Clearly track record is a primary guide to use, but I would also take your self-assessment as very valuable. I don't mean to be hard on you or anyone for identifying strengths vs weaknesses.

Q: I bought both companies at the same time to balance oil investments. Meanwhile, PXT is up 14% and WCP lost 2%. Assuming that oil stocks move with oil prices why would there be such a diversion?

Q: On September 9 you said that DRG.UN's payout ratio was 55%. Previously on Feb16 you said it was close to 100% and yesterday on September 20 you said it's effectively 100%. I'm confused ? What changed between September 9 and September 20 ? Looking at Morningstar I see a payout ratio of 58.7%. What is the correct payout ratio ? Also if Morningstar's figure is correct or in the vicinity of correct and the PE is 7.3 this seems to me like a company with an ample cushion for the dividend. But I realize nothing is secure when looking at a dividend in the region of 9% so what would be your concerns regarding an investment in DRG.UN ?

I am thinking about the same with ESL, and have noticed the share price is lower now than a year ago. Is a full position same as above be acceptable?
