Q: I joined 5iResearch a few months ago and I have learned a great deal about how to be a better investor. I have 2 sons - one in 4th yr business school and the other a recent business grad. I think they could both benefit greatly from your service. Do you offer a 3 month "trial subscription" (I am happy to pay) so they can see if its something they will actually use on a regular basis as I do?

Q: I currently hold the following technology companies in the weights indicated:
CSU 4%; ENGH 2%; SYZ 1%; and GIB.A 1%. I also hold MDA at 1.4% but I am not sure it is classified as a technology company. If I include MDA my technology holdings are 8.6% of my portfolio. I would like to increase this weighting and I am considering adding OTC at 2%. I would appreciate your comments on my current balance of tech companies. Also, would OTC add diversification to my current tech holdings? Would you recommend adding to my current tech holdings?

Q: Can you tell me what would be your favourite gold stocks right now. Not explorers, but actual producers, small, medium, or large, that can make money at this price, and hopefully have the prospect of increasing production. Thanks for your help.

Q: Looks like us financials are losing steam / as is the US currency against the Canadian $ I have some profit in US financials would you take the $ and run or wait?

Also what do you see for the US $ against the Canadian currency going fwd especially after Trumps comments today that the US $ is too strong ? - I under that this is 2 questions thanks as always for your insight

Q: Still hunting for income without taking on too much risk.

Both BIF.UN and PEG have yields in the 8% range.

I would appreciate your comments regarding adding these to a portfolio that contains most of all three of the 5i Portfolios, and is reasonably well balanced despite being underweight in utilities.

Q: Good afternoon,
I hold a combination of stocks from your BE and Growth portfolio. To date I have not purchased either of your energy picks. At current prices both have had a pull back. Which one do you recommend purchasing at this time? I plan to hold long term and dividend is not needed.

Q: I'm building a non-registered account with companies that pay out a fairly high dividend (tax efficient for the dividend tax credit) and with an emphasis on growers. In particular companies that have indicated their intention of growing the dividend 5-10% annually and in some cases provided timelines as well. Looking for steady increasing income from this account but also hoping the increasing dividend will provide a floor for the stock prices against increasing interest rates expected over the next while. Time line 5-10 years.

For example, ENB who have indicated 10-12% dividend increases through 2024 (choose this over ENF who has indicated 10% increases through 2019). This should take ENB's dividend payout up to around 9%+ based on the current stock price. I've also included ECI in the account so far.

BEP/BIP don't fit the bill due to the distributions not being tax effective.

Looking for more ideas, perhaps 5-10 that I could consider adding to gain some diversification as well.

Q: I'm aware of the interest rate and housing market sensitivity, but I'm still intrigued by the yield. Are the payouts of such MIC's classified as true dividend income (eligible for the dividend tax credit)?
If you aren't a big fan of these MICs, what would be your top 3 picks for companies with high (as safe as possible) yields (north of 6%)?

Q: It has been a while since you have provided an opinion on this company.Technically the stock has been performing very well lately.Can you please provide your updated fundamental analysis.Do the current fundamentals support the latest positive price action.Would you recommend for an investor looking primarily for income with some future growth in both dividend and equity price?

Q: Peter and His Wonder Team
As you can see MND just reported its Production and Sales Report for 4thQ. The stock fell today 2.2% while the whole sector had a very good day. Does this mean that there 4thQ financial report will probably not meet expectation? So the investors are disappointed and there may be a reasonable price dip? If so would that present a buying opportunity? Please give your current assessment of MND in light of this report.
