Q: In your opinion, what are the largest factors in preventing Sienna Senior Living from trading at higher multiples? Is there that much of a difference between the retirement home business and apartment reits? Apartment Reits seem to be trading at multiples in the 20s and above while, according to Scotia, SIA is trading at a 2019 FFO multiple of less than 14.

Q: Hi please advise - several highly regarded analysts (including Dennis Guartman are forecasting that the Canadian dollar will strengthen against US dollar. Forecast is $115 - $120 by year end - do you support this theory or? should I convert my RBC direct investing US shares to CAD? or ? also apple is selling long term bonds what is you view on buying and how would I go about purchasing these 30 yr bonds / whats the risk?- Deduct credits as you see fit ...thanks

Q: I am a retired investor who has always believed in dividends because of the tax treatment. However, we carry a considerable capital so are unlikely to pay capital gains tax for some time. It would seem then that ROC is actually beneficial so things like REITs should be held in a taxable account with the BCEs and the banks.Am I right?

Q: I currently have a position in cnq and wondering if this company is the best way to get exposure to oil. I am targeting a 5% position in my portfolio for oil stocks. I am considering selling this position in favour of Royal Dutch Shell. I am not concerned with the Canadian/us exchange since I hold both currencies. My targeted rate of return is 10% per year over the long run (dividend plus capital appreciation)and a 6% current yield in RDS goes a long way in achieving this return. I am also not concerned with the tax impact so the dividend tax credit is not an issue.
What is your preferred way to hold you exposure to oil? Is there a stock that you prefer to cnq or RDS?

Q: I own KL and have made a very good profit on it and hate to sell at this point. However I do have an ETF I'm not happy with and thinking of selling. Would you suggest taking profit to buy one of the other golds and if so which one or using money from my ETF?

Q: To park my cash, I have been using the TD Investment Savings account TDB8150 (CDN) paying 1.6% and TDB8152 (US) paying 1.45%. I just saw your answer about PSA and PSU High Interest Savings ETFs that pay in the range of 2.25%....I assume these returns are net of fees?. On the surface, it seems a no brainer that I should move into PSA and PSU, however, I wanted to check to see if there was any downside (increased risk, lower liquidity, etc) that I should be considering. Thanks
