Q: When is the anticipation completion date of the sale to Conoco Phillips? What portion of the company is now oil and what portion is natural gas and is it dry or wet? How do you feel about Kelt for a 2 to 3 year hold? Thanks for your input.

Q: Hi,
Is there way to save transaction fee on dollar cost averaging? I want to buy several stocks/ETFs every week. E.g. ARKK, VEEV, etc. However the transaction fee will be 520 dollars every year for each stock/ETF. If I do it on 10 stock/ETFs the it will be 5200 dollars.
Thanks!

Q: Shortly after the COVID crash, I ran a screener for companies that were down 50% or more over 1, 3, and 5 year timeframes, to capture stocks that were well below their their normal longer term levels. I note that had I blindly bought the top 10 or 20 names, I'd have done pretty well (although I pretty well picking from 5i stocks anyway). These 5 are now at the top of that list. Do you see any opportunity or red flags in any of these?
Q: I am considering moving my RRSP from the firm my company has selected to something I can self-direct myself (saving management fees). It is approx. $90K and I don’t expect to access it for 20 -25 years. My thought was to mimic your balanced equity portfolio. Does that amount and time horizon make sense for the strategy?
Q: If you have a $50,000 portfolio and you own one stock with $25,000 in it and the other $25,000 is in cash, would you consider that diversification?

Q: Hi,
When I read this article in this morning's Globe and Mail, I thought of an excellent question by Dale on August 6th and your equally excellent answer. In some ways I was surprised by your answer. You chose "momentum" as the single most important factor in investing and pointed out to difficulties in defining "quality". (I thought you would choose Value and management as the most important factors!!)
With this in mind, and reviewing today's article in the Globe, would you say VMO.TO or XAW.TO, VXC.TO are good choices for a 10% position to cover this "momentum" factor? Or any other ETF that you feel is superior to these? Not sure if these are covered in ETF Mutual fund newsletter. I have to look the past articles up.
