Q: Hi group I am up 15% on W ( full position)should I sell before 3 rd quarter results are out at the end of Oct. What are the expected results / do you think the growth continues especially when the Virus concerns are climbing. Is it a hold ,Sell, or buy more on dips. Moderate risk older investor. Q: I owned shares of AUG which have now been converted to FURY shares. The new FURY shares have taken a hit this week and may see more selling as this deal shakes out. I like the potential of the company and sector and would consider buying more on this price drop. Before adding to this position I wanted to get your thoughts on the company/projects/management and if you think we're likely to see more selling in the near term (possibly because of Eastmain shareholder selling/disgruntled AUG shareholders selling?) and therefore hold off on buying for now. Q: Through the pandemic I have decided to remove certain names from my Canadian portfolio that I was less confident in. I am now down to 19 positions from 25 originally. Also with this I have built up more cash than I would typically have. I know you guys advocate being mostly invested, but I am having a hard time finding names that I am bullish on through the pandemic that I do not already currently own. The portfolio is roughly a mix between your growth and balanced portfolios. Would you continue to hold approx 10-15% in cash or add in some sort of growth ETF for the short term until we are through the pandemic and things return to normal where I can expand my portfolio again. If so, which Canadian etf would you add for the short term considering the details i have shared?

Q: I do not believe ZSP.U would be exempt from US withholding tax. Could you confirm this? If not what ETF's would be exempt from US withholding tax for a Canadian investor? ZSP is subject to US tax and worth about .24% and on a larger account significant. Thanks for your help.

Q: I am currently looking at taking a position in a preferred issue. I have identified BPO.PR.C and TRP.PR.C. as two that might fit my portfolio. The concern i have with TRP.PR.C is that of it resetting on a floating rate basis viz a vis BPO.PR.C which would be less desirable. Both companies are creditworthy to varying depgrees, so it comes down to the reset standard and reset dates. Could you please provide your comments and feel free to add any other similar preferred issues.

Q: What 3 Cdn and 3 US equities would you currently select (without regard to sector) as your best picks for an investor seeking both a) the six "safest" equities over the next 12 months as in lowest downside risk in your opinion, and b) the six most likely to provide at least a 5% total return over that period? Q: Greetings,

I would like to transition an account that was being handled by an investment firm to one that would be income based, and self administered. I will start with approx 100K and add to it as funds come available. I am considering the income portfolio as a guideline. If I were to start with 12 names from the portfolio, which would you be most comfortable purchasing today? Or would you recommend all 22 names and adding to each as funds come available? I have a minimum 10 year timeline, if not longer. I currently follow the balanced portfolio and could not be happier. This account is for my bride and she prefers less risk. Thanks in advance, as a PSA, I have been a member since 2017 and haven't slept better since joining. Thanks!

Q: Thanks to 5i, I've had the best year ever in the stock market. I've recently been trimming some high beta stocks that have become overweight in my portfolio. Not knowing much about bonds, never owning any, I'm looking at ZBD to park the cash. In Feb 2019 you said" . Any mutual fund or ETF technically does not guarantee any capital, so although ZBD is very safe and provides a higher yield than a high-interest savings account, there is always a 'risk' with bond funds." Can you expand on what the risk is, does the current enviroment add to the risk?

Q: I am looking to alter my financial holdings into November and currently hold. 1 % position in WFC, BMO, BNS, FSZ, and SLF. I am considering replacing BMO and BNS after/before month end respectively and taking up positions in IVZ and JPM on any pull back.
What would your advice be, and/or do you have any more preferred suggestions?

Q: Hi there. I hold positions in ABBV, PFE, MRNA, and AMGEN. I am looking for some supplemental help in the healthcare space and considering MDT, WBA, JNJ(on pull back and aware of legal risks).

What would your opinion and/or recommendations be on these companies JNJ/WBA/MDT Do you have one or two alternatives for a dividend conscious investor?
