Q: HI, This retired income couple want to invest 5K for our 20 year old grand daughter from our TFSA. To do so we have to sell some of our holdings in this account. Our largest holding SLF to our smallest TPZ are available with profits in most. Please suggest best to worst to select for raising the necessary cash. Our plan is to use the cash to purchase VGT.US or perhaps your other preferred etfs to be used in about 3-5 years. Thanks
Q: Hi 5i
Do you know of any recent news that would have caused the 32% increase in stock price in one day?
If there is news, would you please comment on it and your opinion for the prospects of a long term hold?
Thanks!
Q: I have pipeline exposure but no direct oil investments. Would you recommend an oil company? Perhaps Chevron or a Canadian oil company or an oil ETF?
Q: While doing some screening, I noticed that these 5 stocks in the the "Business Support Services" sub-category all came with "Strong Buy" analyst recommendations. I would not put too much credence in a single recommendation but 5 seemed indicative of something.... How would you rank these firms' immediate and longer-term prospects. Thanks!
Q: My wife and I treat our individual accounts as a single portfolio. Based on the Portfolio Analytics we are significantly underweight on the US and rest of the world. We have on RRSP representing 12% of the portfolio that will be converted to a RRIF next year that we would like to simplify. We will maintain 40% - 50% in fixed income, but would like to invest the rest in equity ETFs with holdings outside of Canada. Could you please suggest one or two ETF for exposure to each of the US and the rest of the world. Thank you.
Q: CWB had a weak quarter with lower net interest margins than expected and weaker guidance as well. EPS of $0.84 missed estimates of $0.90.It appears loan and deposit growth came in lower than expected but the company expects higher rates to act as a bit of a tailwind over the year. On proximity to the oil sector, this type of activity can have a lagged impact but also financing activity might be more muted as energy companies are more focused on shareholder returns compared to capital investment
I asked the question show above you did not answer my question as to why CWB results were so bad please answer the question on CWB
Q: Everyone. TOST and LSPD have recently posted their quarterly reports. How would you characterize the POS business as it relates to their comments. Clayton
Q: The current market turmoil has made me realize that a certain amount of commodities exposure as an "asset class" should help with portfolio diversification and therefore risk/return profile. Is this thinking correct? What options, if any, are available for the average retail investor to get broad commodity exposure w/o a lot of overhead which you would recommend?
Q: Can I please have your opinion on ADN? Do you feel the dividend is fairly safe and sustainable.
Would you prefer another lumber producer and if so why. Thank you.
