Q: Hi 5i team
Let me start by thanking you all for you valuable insights into markets and stock valuations through the years. My question is regarding a tfsa portfolio. I am considering reducing amount of stocks to 20. Which 6 stocks would you let go in order of first to sell to last. Secondly, could you give me a brief opinion/ comment on my present holdings in a tfsa and if there's value in keeping status quo.
Thanks as always
Gilles
Q: Hi, can you rank these stocks for best to worst expected total return over the next 3 years in a non-registered account. Also, rank them for the lowest to highest risk.
Q: HOOD I don’t own do you still see value at these prices or should I wait for a pull back?
SRAD and NBIS I own but would like to buy more what would be a good entry price?
Q: Considering low oil prices, and potentially some undervalued stocks, would it be a good time to invest in oil or natural gaz stocks now , if this were the case, could you list your favorite stocks ,many thanks ,JY
Q: I was on forums looking at a question about parking US cash. The discussion was between Rob and Jeff dated Feb. 4, 2025. It seemed from my understanding that you can have T Bills that pay about the best rates and at that time it was 5% plus. I have accounts online both US and Canadian. Are these US online accounts set up to buy T Bills like I buy a stock? Thanks so much.
Q: I have done well with this stock in the last 2 years, even after cutting the dividend by 50 % it still pays 7.2%,for me it’s a great income stock I don’t think I have to worry too much about, your thoughts on the company specifically the dividend and the payout ratio and is it a possible target for acquisition
Thanks
Q: If I exchange 100% of my Parkland shares for shares in the newly forming Sunoco corp. what sort of capital gains liability would be triggered? Parkland shares were originally purchased for $21 ?
Thanks,
Philip
GRGD has been public for a few quarters now. Looks like their growth metrics look quite good. What are your thoughts on the company? Would you be buyers at today's prices?
Q: I bought XMHQ thinking it would be prudent to add some quality midcaps and diversify . It has not worked and I have a largish loss which if realized would not be useable for tax. A year ago, I almost moved on but continued to hold the ETF thinking its time had surely come. I see that you had the same thought yourselves about a year ago. We were both wrong.
Before I expel XMHQ , please comment on the prospects for XMHQ going forward. Do you think this DOG will finally have its day? Is it good enough at least to keep up with the equal weight S&P 500 RSP? :sab:
Q: BNN's Keith Richards says this: "Stocks rising and bond yields rising are not compatible. Rising yields push bond prices lower. While bond and stock prices are not perfectly correlated, they normally keep a reasonably close pace. Currently we are seeing huge negative divergence.
Picture an alligator about to clamp its jaws down after opening wide. I call the divergence “Gator Jaws,” meaning that the price of stocks and price of bonds are moving in opposite directions. That will change by a falling stock market, or rising bond market (falling yields), or both – but it will change."
Q: Big down movement today on ARC Resources and big volumes. Energy up for the most part. No news discovered. Can you provide any insight on what is moving this stock? Thanks.
My mortgage is up in 22 months, I have enough cash to pay it off. Is 22 months enough time to invest it in some secure dividend paying stocks like ENB, H or TD or just invest in a 4% GIC.
