Now that many companies have reported can you please give us an overview of what the earnings look like so far?

Are they meeting expectations or below?

Do you have a sense of forward guidance from reported companies?

Q: HI 5i

Rogers as gone up considerably this year. Is this really deserved or is it just momentum from bluejays. I have considerable gains, bought in around 42 $. I am wondering if I should sell to capture some gains , (lots of losses from energy to balance out tax issues.)

any basic rules of thumb to consider on "when to sell" ?

Q: on a valuation basis sj is a fair bit more expensive than fsv or cig.i have some money to invest.

Q: Interested in your comments on Westshore Terminals (WTE). Seems the projected tonnage is lower because of a drop in thermal coal shipments (one source). They will be compensated for the eliminated shipments. Consequently they reduced the dividend from $1.32 to $1.00 in order to keep the debt at a minimal. Seems like something a well run company would do. Now the market is punishing it. Down 18%. Maybe there’s more curtailment expected?

Q: Convalo released August 31, 2015 quarter over quarter growth rate of 145% and an annualized growth rate of 580%. Does this meet or exceed expectations? Would also appreciate your explanation of why the warrants expiry has been accelerated to Nov 17. Thanks

Q: Over the past few days, I have heard several talking heads on BNN (which I watch infrequently) disparage the Consumer Staples sector and ATD specifically, saying the valuations are too high. Which metrics are they using? You haven't rated ATD yet so I haven't found the answer on this site.
I like watching the technicals (but don't react to them). Neither the sector as a whole nor ATD is overbought and in fact the sector is closer to oversold. And, ATD has been on an unbroken uptrend since July of 2009 - but is that a bad thing?
