Q: Could you explain what warrants are, why are they issued and how they help the company/ and or shareholders? I
I don't have any debentures so I gather from a previous question we don't do anything about them.
Thanks
Jeff

Do you expect more downside?
If so what price might be tempting
what will it take to start moving up again?
Currently I dont own it.

Q: Dear Peter et al:
Above mentioned stocks I hold as a small percentage of my portfolio. Of course I am down now! However I have been using covered call strategy to "get paid whilst I wait"! So, I am happy to hold them for a few years.
The question I have is this. Are these good companies to hold for a few years? If not, would you suggest any alternatives? I see from your answers that you like FTNT/CRWD,PANW.
Thank you for your answer.
Mano.

Q: I identified 9 companies that out performed the TSX 60 plus 3 energy companies that I believe have a bright future. All 12 failed the MACD. 5 are trading at double digit discounts to their 52 week highs; dsg, shop,l,tou and cve. P/E range from 85 to 6 etc, etc. Please pick your diversified top 6 for a 5 year hold, with consistent profitability, no crazy volatility and suggest a great entry price. Thank you

Q: I currently have 40% of my portfolio in Canadian banks, utilities, BN,TOI, LMN and other dividend paying stocks Mostly purchased in the last year. I'm considering legging 60% of my remaining cash in my portfolio into VTI and VUS in the next 10 months. Do have any thoughts or concerns?
My understanding is any US stocks paying a dividend should go into an RRSP account. All my investments are in RRSP's and TSFA's.
Thanks
Brian

Q: Looks like it’s time for an update on WED. They have done well with their execution over the last year, but do you see opportunity for further price gains going forward.
Q: Hello,
Not too long ago I asked your opinion of Heico - thank you for your response.
As a follow-up, could you please compare Heico to Transdigm? Which has the better past returns, future growth potential, balance sheet health, valuation? Which would be your preference if only buying one? What entry points would you consider reasonable?
Thank you for your insights,

Q: What are your thoughts on REIT's as a whole, as the sector is getting beaten up. I know which one's you like based on other questions. I'm not a value investor, but I do like buying high quality names in beaten up sectors when investors think the sector is done. I did this with oil & gas 3 years ago. Do you think the quality names in the REIT sector are getting unjustifiably cheap and may be a screaming buy longer term? Or are there reasons to not be a big fan of the sector? thx
Q: In the past you have recommended Voo as an us s&p ETF now it seems to be spy. What is the difference?

Q: Peter,
What can you tell me about the class action lawsuit regarding Maxar Technologies. I received a proof of claim form in the mail. It mentions an award of $27m. There are currently 74 million shares outstanding.
Thanks

Q: First Energy stock has been dropping although it is still profitable and seems to hold a SOLID businesses.
With the 4.3% dividend would you suggest it is at a good entry point or are there cautions I should be aware of?
Thanks, Ted.

Q: Hello Peter and Staff
I was a bit surprised at your answer to Lee on August 21st where you included GSY and TCN as too risky for the average retired investor . I thought both are high on your list ?
Thanks for all you do

Q: Hello 5i team, Scotia is falling again, it is at 62 , in one of your messages you said that it is becoming atractive (it was at 64 then), what would be a good entry point to buy? thanks
Q: While I like their growth profile, management and commitment to debt reduction, I just can’t figure out exactly what they do. I remember the old Moore Business forms when I would send out handwritten invoices ( many many years ago )and I see the word “ print “ in their presentations so I’m thinking they are in a declining business.
In plain words , can you tell me what they do. An example of how they would assist a customer would help. Thanks. Derek.

Q: Hi folks. You mention today that the yield is only 6.8% but I see 10.21 %? What am I misconsruing ?

Q: Hi 5i,
I want to add 1 of the following consumer related US companies to an income portfolio with some growth:
COST (good growth, very small dividend)
WMT (good growth, small dividend)
AMZN (Good growth, No dividend)
KVUE (good products, good dividend, not as much growth)
Please review them, rank them in order of preference for a long term hold. If you have a better alternative, please include it.
Please deduct 5 credits, 1 for each company and 1 for the other possibility.
I look forward to your review.
John
