Q: Thank you for your help regarding historical valuations of young davidsons mine which was taken over by Alamos gold. Thanks to you we were able to get the stock certificates issued in my mother-in-laws name. Now she wants to sell the certificates and I need to determine the value my father-in-law paid for the original 1000 shares of young Davidson's mine August 24 1984. Can you help?

Chesswood Group
Crescent Point Energy
Photon Control (You had recommended this one a few months ago, and I am up 16%. Thank you for the good recommendation.)
Sherritt Intl.
I am down 70% on Crescent Point and 55% for Sherritt.
I have a 10 year plus investing time horizon.
Should I hold onto CPG and S and just be patient?
If not, and you recommend to sell either one or both of them, what stock(s) would you recommend as a replacement?
I am looking for growth and income.
Currently, CPG is around $4,000 and so is S.

Q: Hi, I am helping my in-laws manage their retirement savings, and I would like to have suggestions for investing the remaining balance in my father-in-law's RRIF (about $7000). The rate of withdrawal is fairly high as he is now 92. I was thinking the best way would be to invest in a balanced, dividend or bond mutual fund, to avoid commissions. This mutual fund, composed of various ETFs, is managed by Larry Berman. It seems to generate a decent and constant dividend, without much volatility. The series D has an MER of about 1.17%. What do you think of this fund? Would you have other suggestions? The overall portfolio is very diversified and of course fairly conservative. Thanks for your service.
Q: Please comment on Open Text's earnings. The GAAP - net income /eps (0.14) seems to be on the low side - this is what expected? If not whats going on here? Can you also comment on whether the cash flows are in line with what's expected?
