Q: My position in gold is split between Gold corp & Centerra Gold ---both have been hit ----I do write some covered calls on gold corp -----but would I have more bang for my buck by buying an etf ----?GLD ? as over the longer haul 12-18 months or more ---Gold should recover ? ---thanks ---Don

Thank you again for your service. It's a great source of knowledge and investment ideas.

My question is about management ownership (or large shareholder) and compensation. Where can I find information about this in the filings ? Maybe there is a good website ? (I know Bloomberg is good for the ownership part but as many small investors, I really can't justify the fee). Thank you.

Q: Have you looked at EXFO, EXF in Toronto. Their first half was only OK but they are building up their cash balances. Could they start a dividend program?

Q: Peter - this is such a great venue. thanks for starting it up. Great advice with no attachments. My question is on AVF. they had a less than stellar last quarter and the stock dropped dramatically. It now has a yield 12%. What are your thoughts on this one. Q: Parkland Fuel (PKI). I am just starting to take "ownership" of my portfolio and I hardly have financial analyst skills. However, I noticed the following about Parkland:
- it is trading near its 52 week high
- it had over $200 million in intangibles on its balance sheet
- its P/E ratio seems high and the forward P/E is less
- its dividend exceeds its profit. I don't really understand the theory of ignoring non-cash expenses in determining an appropriate distribution amount, unless the actual requirement for repair/replacement is less than the recorded distribution.

Am I being too cautious?
