Q: Dear 5i Staff,
I would like to participate in the energy price recovery and the expected new US Administration favorable bias toward energy companies.
My question is it better to invest in Canadian or US energy companies now
Which of these stock you favor: Duke, Exxon, Chevron or maybe an ETF is better. Any other suggestion.
Thank you and best wishes for the season.

Is my strategy makes sense.

Q: Hi Peter and Team! I know the Us is not usually covered, but what are your thoughts on a long term holding in this company. I will not be without customers ( sorry, I could not help, that one😄😄😄) Cheers, Tamara
Q: Can you give me your opinion on CorSite. I see they raised the dividend 50% and am wondering if there might be decent growth here as well.
Q: On December 6th's edition of the Globe & Mail John Reese recommended Wabash (WNC). Is it a good stock? He noted its P/E to be seven and earnings per share growth of 30%. Does the company have a high debt and do insiders own stock?
Thanks
Jim

BMO Equal Weight US Banks Hedged to CAD Index ETF (ZUB)
Q: I am currently up 30 to 60% on these companies, all are held in an RSP or RIF account. Would you add, take profits, or sell full position in any of these funds. I have about $20,000 to invest currently in my RRSP and am wondering if it is to late to start a new US position. I am considering facebook or google? Thanks for your input!
Q: Recent article in Barron's suggested the DOW Jones industrial index will outperform relative to other indexes due to beneficial effects of Trump policies. Can you suggest an ETF that captures the DOW index and its companies.
Q: Holding modest amount of funds in trust for kids w/5 year time frame. What do you think of Bayer today as lynchpin holding for US funds? Is there a difference tax wise for dividends vs US company like PFE? Thanks as always for the great service!
Q: interesting blog on p/bvps and p/tbvps, what do you think of citi using these metrics as a value play? seems to me it might be a good investment. tkx pat

Q: I have good gains in two US positions. One is GSE systems (GVP) (3.7% of total portfolio)and the other is Flextronics (5%).
Both up over 100%. Is it time to trim these, sell, or wait till January for tax purposes.
I appreciate your guidance.

Q: I've seen an article recently that speculates that the next paradigm shift will be a faster expansion of the "Internet of Things", especially by large industrial companies that over the next 30-40 years will automate more processes using equipment and sensors provided and monitored by outside companies. Names mentioned that are expected to benefit most were GE, Honeywell, Rockwell, Cisco and IBM. I'd appreciate your opinion on whether this seems like a good idea for long-term investment.
Q: Hi,
I know US holdings aren't your main focus. I'm currently about 20% down on CALM. Do you think they're worth holding onto or do you think there's a different US company in the same sector that I would be better off owning? My time frame is very long on this one.
Thanks!

Q: Looking at building my USD assets and then investing it in Vanguard ETFs. Would you invest in the S&P500 or maybe the specific sectors such as consumer staples? If so, what percentage would you put in each sector? Ultimately I would like to invest in specific companies but there is no 5i US equivalent so this would seem like the next best alternative.
Q: Not your bailiwick but could you give me your assessment of Mohawk Industries and it's prospects under a Trump administration?

Q: Large-cap healthcare ETFs are giving-up their post-election bump, in some cases (for example, HHL) approaching nine-month lows. Are there any that are becoming interesting, or is this sector just too instrinsically volatile? In the past, 5i has spoken well of IHI (NYSE), do you still like it?
