Q: Hi Peter and team,
Impinj Inc has a very nice run up lately, it dropped 13% today along with the other tech stock.

What is your thought of this company. Do you see strong future growth?

Would you think it is buyable at this level or is it still too expensive?

Thanks as always. Pui

Q: Is there a better deal out there for Sandvine or should I sell it now? I was thinking of putting the proceeds into Open Text or Shopify now that it has sold off.

Thank you.

Q: Can you recommend a handful of your preferred US tech names? Also can you suggest anything in your coverage universe in tech that you would be wary of right now? For the latter I am curious about Canadian tech companies that you like but that for one reason or another may be best to avoid in the shorter term. Thanks.

Q: HI 5i,

I unfortunately bought into Shopify and Apple right before the big tech sell off on Friday and today, and as such I am down quite a bit.

I know the financials and growth prospects of both companies are VERY strong and a rebound is likely within the next month, so I am wondering whether this is an opportunity to buy these stocks at a lower price. My sector weighting in tech is currently 12% (I am in my mid twenties with a higher risk tolerance), so I am also wondering whether you think I should instead sell to cut my losses if you see this correction continuing long term.

Thanks,

Grace

Q: Hi,
I currently don't hold any tech. With the drop last week almost sector wide would you think this is a good entry point? I'm long term (at least 3-5 years), fairly comfortable with risk. What would you recommend? Any drips available will be utilized as well.

THanks!

Q: Good morning gentlemen,

I have fairly large gains in the fang stocks as well as with Apple. With the Nasdaq taking its second consecutive beat down today, Would you be inclined to take profits. With Apple being down close to 8 percent in two days ( due to downgrades, ostensibly), in your experience. Does a stock like this rebound the following day? Also, do you think the sector shift away from tech could be an enduring trend?

All of the aforementioned positions are at 5-6 percent holdings.

What I'm getting down to is : sell today, or wait for a rebound ? I understand the former involves a degree of market timing, but surely with your many years in the industry, you must have some flair for such events.

With much appreciation,
Karim Rahim

Q: I have an "overweight" position in this stock (not overly so, perhaps 8%). Thank you, it has done very well. However, though I appreciate one should not make much of one days price action, I did note quite a volume spike on todays sell off. I also have noted that not just one but a number of insiders have been selling over the last month or so. Certainly, the gains could justify some of that, but for one holding a relatively large position these indicators are troublesome. Given that my gains have been substantial, I am wondering if trimming, somewhat in accordance with the insider selling, may be appropriate.
I do note that, generally, "analysts" have been increasing target prices on this company which doesn't seem to "go to market". Makes me wonder if "something" is in the works?
Anyway, I would certainly appreciate your considered opinion on what is going on with this one and whether a trimming, rather than just letting winners run, may be appropriate here.
Thanks as always.

Q: I have held DIS for about 3 years and have a gain of 30% but it has not done much lately and seems to be range bound and having problems in its ESPN division. I'm thinking of switching to QQC to get some exposure to US Tech and hopefully more growth. What is your opinion of this move?

Q: Hello Peter, being now within a few years of retirement, we are managing to put extra money into a non-registered account on top of our diversified RRSPs. The idea is that we will build a portfolio of full positions in a variety of solid companies for long-term income and growth. To date, we have ATD.B, ENB, L, FTS, CGX, T and CXI. I'd next like to add two tech stocks, as we currently have no representation from that sector. Can you please suggest two top picks. (While irrational, CSU would psychologically be a tough one for me to buy, as it came within pennies of my order price under $500 last summer! But if that's one of them, so be it.) I've also considered OTEX. Will appreciate your suggestion.

Q: I've just read a Transparency Market Report on these three equities.( I already own NVDA and plan to hold.) Would you please give me your views on the other two? Might they have the same potential as NVDA? Thank you for already making me richer--just hoping for more.....
