Q: Axia was expected to initiate a special dividend due to the excess cash on the balance sheet associated with the sale of some non-core assets, instead the company has initiated a "small" quarterly dividend and they have renewed their share buy back in December. You've previously said you view the initiation of a dividend as very positive. I believe they are trying to signal their long term intentions to the market and based on their cash position and their projected income levels they have ample room to grow the dividend over time. What are you thoughts about this move by Axia? Do you think this is the right move as opposed to initiating a special dividend? Are they being too conservative with returning capital?

Thanks,
Rob

Q: I have been considering Enghouse (ESL) as I can now put some money in my TFSA. However, I noticed Descartes (DSG)and started comparing to ESL. I read your previous comments and they do not indicate any leaning to one or the other. The market caps are similar but ESL has a lower P/E. What is your opinion of these two? Thanks in advance.

Q: PLUG has met their 4th quarer targets and the stock is spiking in early hours.
According to the CEO the first quarter 2014 should also be a good one. Once again they seem to be on a good growth curve with top notch customers. BLD is one of their suppliers.
Could be a very good year for both companies.
Do you agree.
Good Luck for The New Year

Q: Best wishes for 2014. And thank you, once again, for freeing us all from brokers.
Could you please compare and contrast Redknee RKN and Sphere 3-D ANY. I own RKN and am wondering if I should swap it for Sphere. But I can't assess how serious RKN's last earnings miss was. You have said that the story is not over, but you have also said RKN is now more risky. I don't know Sphere 3-D very well, but I have seen you suggest it to other members.

In your recent blog post "Five Small Cap Rules to Live By," your 5th recommendation is the following: Don't stick around too long if serious problems develop. Specifically, you add that a serious problem may be revealed in "declining sales trends or declining profit margins. A small, growing company, in our view, should never show declining sales." Does RKN fit into this category? Is Sphere a good switch with better risk-reward or should I wait one more quarter on RKN. Thank you again for fabulous service: I have made money--and more importantly learned a lot!

Q: For a TFSA of $35 000 with Amaya(AYA)representing 75% and CGI (GIB.A) 25%, where would you advise putting an additional contribution of $5 500 ? Both are good companies. Would adding to these companies make any sense, or is there enough there, and some diversification would be advisable ? What about putting this additional contribution in GIB.A ? Thank you kindly for your advice.

Q: Regarding AXX (Axia) what is the PE net of their cash position (once the sales close)?
You mentioned in an answer to a previous question they don't appear to have a good growth profile, however, in the most recent quarter they reported 14% YOY EBITDA growth. The covage network in France appears to have a good growth profile and the new network coming on line in Massachussets should add even further growth.
They appear to have a strong clean balance sheet and a proven ability to develop and monetize these fibre networks. I would think longer term someone either buys out their networks or they'll turn into a nice cash cow type utility company. Am I missing something here what's not to like?

Q: HI Peter & Co: No hurry with this. Today on BNN, James Hodgins had some good things to say about Neulion (NEU). Would you give me your take on this company?

Many thanks
