Q: FC-T has a high yield over 7%, which is a better return than any of it's convertible debentures. a free cash flow of 5.47M, However a book value of 10.28. They have never reduced their dividend. Do you see this company as a reasonable investment for income.

Q: Wouldn't a downturn in the economy be neutral for this company as it backs up the loans with overcollateralization (I think it was 130% last quarter) and therefore an increase in company defaults would end up okay for their balance sheet once things were worked out? Thanks.

Q: Hi ...can you comment on the current apparent disconnect between the AIG stock price and the company's warrants . The stock is currently trading close to it's year high ...yet the warrants are off over 4$ . Seems too rapid in terms of time erosion on these warrants as they don't expire till 2021 ....lots of time left .. they trade over 29$ in August . ...an opportunity?

Q: Hello,

I bought TD some time ago at 55 looking to convert to US. Unfortunately the plan didn't work (in order to sell in US you have to call the brokerage and I could not get through). Long story short the stocked dropped the next day and jut now I'm even.
My question is what do you expect when they announce the earnings?
Is it worth holding? Should I sell it in U$ and if yes do you have any US stocks that you recommend ( I know you don't follow the us market, but I think you should really start)?

Q: The Globe had a link to an article that described US shale oil producers as facing a "debt bomb" due to low oil prices, declining cash flow and high debt. The article predicts a serious meltdown in the first half of 2016. My question relates to the impact this could have on US banks? My ETF has been doing ok, and I expect banks to be favoured by rising interest rates. I suppose this question could be extended to other commodity areas and Canadian banks as well. Do you see significant risk in banking in the near term due to debt failure? Thanks

Q: I have had a 1/2 position in SCB for over a year now and am down 33%. That is fine if there is a good chance of a recovery, but your note to Darren a couple weeks back did not inspire confidence for 2016. Is it time to take the loss, or to bail.

Q: HI guys
Could you comment on this capital share, when I bought it a few months ago I thought that any increase in the dividends in the underlying stocks would be reflected in the split shares, but this does not seen to be the case, is some of the yield a "return of capital? What do you think about this product?. I feel that I bought it for the wrong reasons and am thinking about selling it. I have owned plit capital shares in the td and ry and have done very well with them. Can you any ideas of a split capital share that follows the life-co's. Sorry that this is so long.
