Q: Hi,
After the recent correction, US banks recovered (JPM, GS, C, BAC) but other finance sector stocks did not (AMP, MFC, AIG). Will future interest rate hikes will not benefit annuity business? At this pull back could AMP:N a good buy if I have some funds in RRSP to invest this year? I do hold TD:T and USB:N and MFC:T.

I currently hold positions in 3 of Canada's 5 big banks as above and they represent about 9% of my total portfolio. Giving pending interest rate increases in both the States and Canada, I am thinking of increasing my holdings in Canadian banking sector to about 12/13 percentage of total portfolio and would like your thoughts on this.

Q: In 2015, EFN issued a 4.25% debenture maturing in June 2020. In light of the company split, is this issued backed at all by ECN or just the assets of EFN?

Q: Financials have a way of tanking hard during bear markets. I learned that first hand in 2009 when amongst the carnage I fortunately picked up several banks on the cheap. Now once again i'm looking at td bank for a solid Canadian stock purchase I regard this company as one of Canada's highest quality stocks. Ive read commentary from several sources to the effect that this stock is reasonably priced. And I certainly appreciate that it hasn't moved much this year and there are some tailwinds for financials currently. But bear markets seem to be the time to pick up bank stocks, not when everything seems rosy a decade into a bull market . With that said, would you add td here--or keep it on your watch list for the next severe correction. How would you personally play td.
