Q: Having just lost a pile of dough on Cipher (moved on as suggested) And having averaged down my cost on BOS a month ago, I am now down 48 per cent on BOS. I can hold for four more years if you think the company has merit. I don't need to sell am sitting on a lot of cash. But I am not mentally prepared for a 75 per cent loss. Do you think it can have a better 2017 or take my loss. Thanks for your sage advice.

Q: I was encouraged by Avigilon's quarterly performance until I compared profits with history and looked at actual earnings per share rather than the adjusted earnings per share shown. Actual was only $0.08. I questioned to myself the adjustments which increased the earnings to $0.21. Also, compared to history, there was nothing outstanding solely in terms of earnings per share. The only positive I see is record revenue but to me a huge revenue is not worth a lot unless it translates into profits. Perhaps I am missing something but I see no reason to continue to hold my shares in this company. I did not follow your advice and did average down with an average purchase price of $21.38 per share. Do you share my thoughts on this company? Thank you

Q: Recently a number of 5i covered stocks got hit with bad earnings. If you already own good companies like SIS and TOY which ones should the above be replaced with at this time.
Q: Is it time to sell BOS ? Thanks
Q: Hello 5i Team!
With STN and WSP recent quarterly results in which company stands to benefit most with the planned future infrastructure spend in the US? I know that both companies are liked by 5i, however, which company has the current edge for a long term investment for capital appreciation? I held Stantec in the past and moved to WSP on your previous recommendations in the Balanced Portfolio.
As always, thanks for the great service!

Q: I was wondering what is going on with Enercare's price this week it's gone down over 7% since last Friday. I hold ECI in my income portfolio and I wonder if I should add to my position with this drop?
Q: CXI currency Exchange Corp is on a downturn daily. Any reason for this? Should I hold or sell? Many thanks Anne
Q: Is it time for "bygones to be bygones" with Airboss? Will you be replacing it in the portfolio? I'm ready to move on as I'm down 25% and prospects don't look good. It's in a TFSA, so can't claim any losses. What would be a good replacement? Thanks as ever for your advice!
Q: Peter and Ryan,
I currently have equal exposure to BNS and TD in my portfolio. In light of the recent American election, would you sell the BNS holdings to buy more TD? (TD is acting much better post election). Both companies are held in my RRIF account.
Supplementary, if I wanted to add American Bank exposure, which ETF would you suggest adding to the same RRIF account?
As always, thanks for your much appreciated guidance.

Q: Think you missed the distribution increase for HR.UN "The trustees have approved an increase in the current monthly distribution per Stapled Unit resulting in a $0.03 annual increase to a total of $1.38 per annum."
Q: I have $5000 I would like to put into a pipeline and wondered if you could recommend something? Perhaps one that might benefit from a Trump presidency. Some income would be nice but not essential. They all seem to be dropping which is the opposite I thought they would do. That's why I need 5i. Thank you :-)
Q: I appreciated your answer to Michael regarding SJ (which we hold in several accounts) and the effect that Trump's position on coal may have on SJ. I came across this quote when a google search about this topic came up with this: "Why Trump Probably Can't Bring Back Coal (or Kill Renewables Either") The reason, as this former coal miner stated is that, basically, coal isn't as competitive as it once was. He said: “Big picture, I would imagine the U.S. is slower to phase out coal than a president who would have retained the Clean Power Plan. I think coal power is not coming back in this country regardless of what regulatory changes a President Trump is going to make. Economically, it is no longer as competitive as it used to be.”
My own personal opinion is that we shouldn't make rash decisions about what Trump may or may not do. This would apply to stocks that 5i covers or has commented on, such as BEP.UN, and others.
I do appreciate the 'tune out the noise, level-headed advice' that the small retail investor consistently receives from Peter, Ryan, and the 5i team.

Q: Please comment on BOS results. If I sell, what should be a good replacement.
