Q: Hi. Can you give a comparison between XGD, which you have written about earlier, and ZGD, the BMO Equal Weight Gold index ETF for which it seems this might be the first question. Is there value in holding both as my exposure to gold?

Q: Aberdeen seems to have lost money on its investments so far, but it appears that the NAV is significantly higher than the share price and mining companies are recovering. Do you know the CEO, David Stein, originally from Cormark? Would the current share price offer a good risk/reward ratio.

Q: I realize that you do not specialize in US stocks, but the "generic" behavior of this stock over the past week puzzles me. On May 18, it was announced that LKQ Corp. would be included in the S&P 500 index. I expected that this would be very good for the share price and that it should rise immediately upon the news (as index funds would have to purchase it). However, following the announcement the share price actually declined by several percent over the rest of the week. Do you have any explanation for such behavior?

Q: Could I get your opinion of ure. I realize uranium will be out of favor for a while yet but the supply cut backs and new reactors being brought on the price has to go up. Will are survive long enough to participate in the recovery.

I own shares in IBG, WSP, and STN in different accounts. I like the global nature of WSP, its growth potential and dividend. Stantec is probably the safest way to play the sector, pays a dividend and seems to have predictable growth as it seems to be able to integrate acquisitions quite successfully. IBG seems to be recovering and probably has the most upside.

If you had to pick one of these Companies, which would you choose and why?

Q: CXI is pretty quiet these days. Have they ever given any indication regarding the status of their bank application? Have they indicated any type of time frame for such a process? Is a change in government typically an obstruction to these types of applications? I never viewed it as a politically sensitive issue.

For better or worse, I am a patient investor. I also buy on all time highs. Sometimes I sell on mental stops. I was able to catch the wave on PHM through 2014 and 2015 adding at new highs and sold most of my position sometime into the decline. Did "awesome."

I have consulted your database of questions on PHM. Based on the answers I am considering adding to my small position, based on the likelyhod of a recovery (although I would expect years for this to happen). The 10 year chart also gives me confidence. My strategy would be to add incrementally in small amounts and only add more if the equity proves itself by heading up.

Do you think the time is "close to right" to start to pull the triger ?

Q: Would like to add one safe stock with good divi to my portfolio. Have sector room for finance and telecom. Trying to choose between BCE & BNS. BCE has a negative with the CRTC regulators forthcoming ruling on the MTB takeover and also encouraging competition. BNS will no doubt be affected by the Alberta problem. Maybe I should be looking elsewhere? Would really appreciate your insight on this as always.

Q: Hi Guys, Am I correct in assuming that if the Fed raises the interest rate in June that the US bank stocks will go up,the US dollar up and gold/gold stocks down in conjunction with that move?

Can you explain why accepting the stock dividend and selling the shares would be a tax headache. Thankd

Q: I just wanted to clarify about dividends. What happens when one sells stocks before dividends are distributed? Do we lose the dividends in this case? Are dividends prorated for the period stocks are held? Is there any suggested good practice for this? Do etfs differ from stocks in this regard? Thanks very much. Shyam

Q: I would appreciate your opinion on IMO. The stock did not do anything during the last 5 years.I have been holding it for years. I am now wondering if I should take the capital gain and move to something that pays a better dividend or tends to move upward.

I understand that AMLP.US ETF that tracks the performance of a basket of energy infrastructure - oriented master LPs. Assuming that the oil prices will be up from here in 5 years and given that this etf currently pays out approximately 9% dividend, I would be interested to hear your view regarding the suitability of this etf in a RRSP in terms of downside risk and dividend sustainability.
