Q: Hi, As part of a portfolio cleanup I am considering replacing <1% positions in DSG and ESL, and adding some more cash and add a full position in OTC. Does this make sense? With the new purchase of DELL EMC enterprise..I think OTC has positioned itself for growth. Are the liabilities increasing due to this purchase? How does it plan to fund this purchase? Do you think it would be better idea to wait for the benefits/issues due to this purchase to sink in?

Q: Hi Team, In the recent quarter, ESL has fared better on many Key performance indicators(KPIs) and growth but the market has very negatively reacted. Is it because of the un-reasonable expectations of the analysts who mislead the public and market sentiments? And you have not answered to another readers specific question on this forum on ESL- to hold or sell?

Q: Hi 5i Research team, I have a long term horizon, and more of a growth oriented investor profile. I prefer to well understand the companies I invest in. The technology sector represents a challenge for me in terms of software products, competition, rapidly changing conditions, obsolescence, variety of software portfolio, etc. So I would like to built a sector exposure based on a few companies instead of using an ETF. Based on reading 5i Research, I am thinking a combination of CSU, KXS, GIB.A, OTC, ESL, DSG, TCS, SYZ,SH. Do you agree with this strategy? Would you include some other companies in this list or replace some? In what order would you rank them in terms of total return potential over long term and overall quality? How many of them would be enough? Would you suggest another weighting than equal weight (2% each)? I also need criteria to manage this group since my understanding won't be up to par. How will I know when to sell, or when to over or underweight in some companies? I would not want to react too strongly to short term events (quarterly results). How would you suggest I implement this strategy (buying strategy)? Thank you, Eric

Q: I find the most difficult thing to do is buy hold or sell lol!
I bought ESL at around $66 a share--having never owned it in the past. I am holding on and with the contract they just received and momentum I think I should average down. You prefer averaging up but when a good company starts showing signs of strength should we not average down and lower the cost base?

Q: In the technology sector, I have OTC(2.8%), WIN (1.5%), ESL (0.62%), AYA (1%). They represent 5.92% of my portfolio. WIN and ESL are not doing well but the loss is not significant. Since I have low exposure to this sector and would like to add more, what stocks should I be looking at? The ideal sector weight should be around 10%. Thanks

Q: Hi Peter,
Enghouse has not been doing well. Do you still like it for long term hold? Any idea why Brookfield Bussiness Partners is going up today? Also, does recent announcement of Brookfield raising $14 B for the Global infrastructure Fund refer to BGI.UN? If so, is it better to invest in BGI.UN or BIP. UN? Lastly, Telecom stocks are stable but the PEs are quite high. Can you shed some light please? Thanks

Q: Have owned ESL with 2000 shares & IPL with 4000 shares for several years with substantial gains of 135% & 170% respectively. I am considering a trim of 25% on ESL & 50% on IPL. This would free up approx. $85,000 in a RIF acct. Would appreciate your suggestion for 2 new additions to complement the existing holdings which include KXS, DH, EIF, MIC & RY. Thank you.

Q: I have 15% of my well diversified portfolio in Tech stocks. I am thinking of consolidating my 7 stocks into a smaller number of stocks - perhaps down to 5. I have 2%-3% in all the mentioned companies except SYZ at 1%. Any suggestions as to which companies to sell and which ones to "top up" would be appreciated, or maybe just leave as is.

Q: Hello Peter,
I own sj, csu, esl, and gib.a. All of them are down more than 10%-15%. My weightings range from 2 to 4 percent. Is it best to just keep the weightings as they are for long term or reduce them. Much appreciated.Umed

Q: Earlier this year your team did a portfolio review for me. Thanks for that as I am much more diversified now (and a bit smarter). I own ESL and would like your opinion on switching to CSU?
