Q: I would like to add to my portfolio one or two of the following. ENB,PPL,TRP or PPL:US. My investgation revealed that these 4 COS. are over valued, future sales and profits are not encouraging. I do not know if the dividends are sustainable. Please give me your advise on these cos. or any other co you may like to recommend. Thank you

Q: Titan Medical (TMD.ca) gets no mention in media. I bought thinking Titan could be the Canadian Intuit Surgical. I have met management and have rooted for this Canadian science & med company . For some 3 years I sense management seem to spend much of the day in internal squabbling. Sad if Canada were to lose yet another tech co. , especially one that was one of the top performers on the TSX a few years ago. Would you please comment on this company’s prospects ( I wonder who might need to buy them?)

Q: I currently have, CSU,DSG,TNC,ESL, SYZ. I also have a little bit of MDA, BB, and AVO. I am not sure if these would be considered Tech or not.
I would like to add KXS. My portfolio is ~12% towards this space, and I remember reading that you are ok with 15 or 20%.
Anyhow, before adding KXS, should I sell some of the above, and concentrate my holdings?
I have done well on DSG and am up 70%, should I just sell it and move to KXS, or just add KXS?
Thanks for the guidance.
Cheers.

Q: I am looking to add some diversity to my rrsp holdings and value your opinion. I would like to add a position in xmm, emerging markets, low volatility and one of xmw or xmy, which is $Canadian hedged. What would be the reason for the discrepancy in nav between xmw and xmy(hedged)? I realize that the latter are newer etf,but which might be the better choice for a 2 to 4 year hold? Also,Vanguard just initiated vvo, another global etf. Have you had a chance to view and could you give your opinion? Thank you for your great service.

Q: Hello Peter,
Mr. Seymour Schulich, continues to increase his holdings in Birchcliff Energy. Do you see this as a good sign to enter the name? It has risen quite a bit so am a bit reluctant. Do you still like Gold standard ventures and lastly would you consider Vermilion energy as a conservative play on energy? My concern is that it dropped quite a bit from a few years ago and is recovering very slowly. At the current rate, can you see the stock doubling in atleast 5 years. Thanks

Q: The new version of rate re-set Preferreds with a re-set floor seems to have found favour with investors. A quick survey of such recent issues finds them all trading in excess of $25.00 par issue price.
What are your general thoughts?
Can we expect all future issues to include this floor feature?
Might future isssuances not be quite as generous given the apparent demand?
While not true fixed income - they now seem closer(?) ; and yields are attractive.
Considerations / Thoughts?
Thank-you

Q: Can you give me your analysis of Stuart Olson, including valuation and whether the dividend appears safe? It appears to be reversing after years of the share price falling and becoming stagnant.
Q: Hi Guys,
Care to comment on Knight Therapeutics increased position today in PDP? Is PDP still quite risky and would you recommend it with the potential approval of 2 of its drugs this year?

Q: I have been dabbling with momentum investing recently after reading endorsements of a 70% value 30% momentum approach. I haven't been able to find too many concrete details on momentum process, mostly vagaries. So far, I have been keeping things simple - buying names with reasonably good fundamentals and strong momentum over the last 6 or so months and riding the momentum until 10 day SMA crosses below 30 SMA. The results have been mixed so far, I reckon I've come out about even. Does this approach seem more or less sound based on your experience? Are there other details you might include in the process (i.e. absolute loss limit in addition to SMA trigger)? Finally, how to stick to the process when markets are in a down trend (i.e. very few stocks have good performance in last 6 months) -- I assume it's important to stick with the process to catch momentum when it turns.

Q: Re Pegi and Peg here in Canada - it appears they are a US based company listed here in Canada - the 2015 and 2016 "dividends" were considered non-taxable return of capital for US tax purposes (per info from the company website). Would you or any reader know what the tax treatment would be for Canadian tax purposes of a US ROC distribution?

Q: Hi, Having AEM stock within the balanced portfolio has really helped it's performance. Are there any hedges like gold stocks within the income and growth portfolio. If not would you consider something like that? Thanks very much. Shyam
Q: CXR has lots of headwinds (brexit, pricing environment, debt levels, questions about their business model, etc). if debt level is one of the biggest headwinds the company faces, and current cash flow will take years to pay down debt, is it possible the company issues shares, even at this really reduced price, to pay down debt?
