Q: I am building a growth portfolio to mimic 5I -- and separate from my other holdings. I own BOS, CXR, DBO, KXS, PUR, SH and RRX at roughly 3% each.
Are all the holdings within the portfolio "buyable" at this time? i.e, do you have a preference in terms of 2 companies to add at this time, which might have more immediate "oomph". (For lack of a better word. I'm still caffeine-challenged at this time of day.)
Q: I guess this is a happy problem to have, due to gains in New Flyer I am going to have to look for a replacement for it.
It has grown to being a large portion of my portfolio and will have to be trimmed.
Do you have any recommendation for a replacement?
Q: Hi 5i,what do you think of SNC hold or sell, and WDO is not going
along with price of gold, is the management OK ? And BOS, substantial decline of the price today indicate investors are not happy with the company I almost feel like dumping 2000 shares we hold in our cash account. Thank you for your advice. Motoi
Q: I have a strict portfolio plan I have followed for 20 plus years into retirement. 30 holds devoted to income and 5 to 10 for growth. average holding is 3%.quarterly earning on a singular basis don't generally worry me. However AD=3.25% of portfolio/ cost base $27.00 held since 2013,BDT=3.00%/cost base is $12.10 held since 2013 have been holds for their dividends. BOS=2%/cost $15.25 was bought for capital gain hopes. All three are having negative earnings currently. Please offer your views as to the stability of them going forward and if I should reduce or exit any based on the poor results. Thanks
Q: To all the people who responded to my concern about liquidity in sylogist , i never buy less than 15000 shares in a company like sylogist or 150,000 dollars therefore liquidity is always a concern and i am a trader, not a buy and hold investor.Dave
Q: Could you comment on the latest Q on IT and their latest initiatives? It seems like a beat on estimates. Do you see any benefit to owning this along side AYA or do you prefer one over the other?
Thank you
Something is not making sense in the market here. Disney buys 33% of Neulions competitor BAMtech for $1 billion.
$1 Billion / .33 = assumed market cap by Disney (liquidity discount most likely applies, but lets negate it) of $6 billion.
Neulion has a market cap of $220 million.
Neulion has, NBA, NFL, global soccer, UFC, tennis locked in, BAMtech has NHL, MLB, PGA. Therefore Neulion > BAMtech in my mind.
$3 billion > 220 million by 13.6x. Is there something I am missing in regards to this massive valuation difference? Technology? Does Disney see some second level of montetization that the market can't comprehend? A special deal perhaps? I picked up more to make a medium sized holding, but will sell if you guys could potential shave off the valuation gap.
Q: Now that Venezuela has agreed to pay the 770M to Gold Reserve this year re their arbitral award…..What are your present views on GRZ at this time ? Thanks
Q: Hello,
Do you still have a positive outlook for these 3 companies (2 year outlook). I currently own these 3 stocks and I am tempted to take some profit but do not need the money at the moment. Sector allocation is still fine.
Also, with oil now at $42, can you please share your short term outlook. Should we expect some increased volatilty over the next few months ? Thank you.
Q: Could you give your opinion on growth prospects for IPL? I currently hold ALA and PPL but am wondering if IPL might provide more growth considering their recent purchase. Or might there be a better opportunity with another company? What are your thoughts? Thanks.
Q: Peter and His Wonder Team
BXE just reported horrible numbers. Since I am not an accountant... I am wondering about all these financial transactions. Do they really reduce there debt and put them on a more sustainable footing going forward. Do they really buy them time and the ability to survive this down cycle? I realize an increase in oil price would be great news for all energy companies!
Thanks for your time and insightful thoughts... and yes you are always great on BNN! Ha!Ha!
