Q: While it is difficult to pull away from my tech holdings, to diversify some US holdings I am considering purchases of Treehouse and Northrop Grumann. Even though these are USA stocks, if possible, would you please give your analysis of whether these companies are good investments at this time...are they a buy or not, and why? Thank you for your excellent service.

Q: Revamping my tfsa, Currently own SHOP, PBH, SIA, NFI, GC, GSY and TOY. Can I have 3 American and 3 Cdn stocks with or without a dividend, solid ROE, and good GARP? I have TSGI in other accounts will keep SHOP and GSY others can be paired have ridden them for 3+ years. Also looking at 3 + years for these. Thanks david

I have held a full position on NOC since March 2105 and am currently up by about 90%. NOC has pulled back by about 18% since reaching its highs 6 moths ago. I am thinking of switching from NOC to BA and would like to get your comments on this move. Thanks.

Q: Hi Peter and associates,

I have a position on NOC for a couple of years. It's spare price has gone up by about 75% since and now accounts for about 4% of my portfolio.

Morning Star just downgraded NOC to 3 stars today. Just wondering whether is it time for me to bail on NOC or at least take some money off the . Also how much stock should an investor put in such rating changes (whether up or down) in general.

Q: Hi,

In light of the Donald's proposed 54 billion dollar budget to increase defence spending, including new aircraft carriers,

Would you suggest buying the rumour ?

From what I gather, chances are this will not pass in its current incarnation.

And if you were inclined to beef up defence in your portfolio, what stocks, mid to large caps would be your preference for a basket of stocks ( I prefer to avoid sector ETFs). Can you rank them ?

Q: re: NOC - Northrop Grumman

I know we aren't necessarily covering US equities at length quite yet. "Greenblats Magic Formula" (John Greenblatt) which according to "Seeking Alpha" has had very good success in finding equities with a high ratio of profits to value has consistently identified names which have vastly outperformed the broad market.

NOC which pays an excellent dividend is one of their top names.

Do you have an opinion on NOC?
