Q: Further to a question asked by Clarence this morning I too am reaching for dividend income. Would you consider any of these high dividend paying companies an unacceptable risk today? I guess in terms of capital loss or dividend cuts? Understanding that obviously things could change in the future.

Q: Oil prices are up around 10% ytd; RRX is down around 30%. I bought RRX with the premise that the oil market at some point would start to rebalance. The oil piece seems to be working itself out; can you explain the huge divergence with RRX.

Also, I could use the capital loss on RRX this year. Can you provide a good company to swap into. Thanks.

Q: hi folks:

looking for direction on oil services/drilling co's

balance sheet-wise what are your 2 -3 choices for long term stability in the energy services area?

(not concerned if it is a frack co; daylighters, upstream downstream etc etc etc)

and, since I have you........

what are your current 2-3 choices for pipelines; oil co's; gas co's

as with service co's i am primarily concerned with future viability (ie staying in business) vs biggest potential recovery

been sitting on my hands and actually making money...........by not buying as yet

Q: Hello Peter,
I hold a balanced total portfolio across my TFSA, RRSP and non-registered accounts. I keep my highest dividend payers in my non-registered and currently have them on DRIPs. Are there any of theese that you don't think should be on DRIP because they are too risky?

Q: I think it was Susan who commented about not being able to find Cineplex's dividend history. I use dividendhistory.org when I'm looking to do research on dividend history. Its free and maybe it can help Susan and others. ( http://dividendhistory.org/payout/TSX/CGX/ )

Q: Hello Peter,
Both of these stocks ride on momentum. If one owns them, how do you approach the sell aspect? Do you simply use technical analysis of 10 and 20 day averages as opposed to 50 and 200 maybe too long given how quickly they rise and fall? Also, once they are sold, how does one approach the buy part (10 , 20 day averages again) Your comments are appreciated.

Q: Hi folks,can you explain the difference between WCS (West Canada Select) pricing versus WTI. TD shows Wcs at $40sh while Wti is $57sh;that is a huge differential spread. Does this affect companies I own; Rrx/t & Pey/t?? or mostly involves companies in The "Oil Sands" like Cpg & Cve. I understand no new pipelines hurt but is the Wcs price, what is holding Canadian oil companies from participating in the recent Wti runnup.
