Q: I am looking to add a long term (2-4 years) dividend payer to my open portfolio. Of the 3 above which has the safest dividend? best growth potential? Your favorite and why?

Q: Hi, Greenspace Brands seems to be receiving favourable coverage recently with several BNN guests liking it. The trend and tilt towards organic food is certainly growing specially the millenials and others with better affordability. What are the growth metrics for this company, acquisitions and organic? You had mentioned that stock is already expensive and there does n't seem to be much coverage among analysts, except one I noticed from Raymond James. company did a financing at $1.20 in December, 2016. Stock already trading at $1.67 and most gains made in last 2 weeks. Is it worth taking a small position, before it catches world's attention ? Premium Brands, also in food business, although not an identical co. but was n't discovered by retail investors when it was trading at a fraction of today's price just 3 years ago. Will appreciate your thoughts. Thanks

Q: Hi,
I'm trying to shuffle a few things around between my margin, RSP, and TFSA accounts and simplify my portfolio. I'm assuming one would want to hold the highest growth stocks in the TFSA because there is no tax.
However, how do you distinguish what should go into which account? For example, among others, I'm holding a bunch of dividend stocks (BPY.UN, BPY, ZWU, VGH, VRE, PPL, AD) and growth stocks (ONEX, XSU, TNC, CXI, SJ) in my RSP. In my TFSA, I also have a mix of dividend and growth stocks, BIP.UN, ZWB, TECK.B, CGX, SHOP, GUD, CRH, HWO. Should I swap some of these stocks between my RSP and TFSA?

My TFSA and RSP are all maxed out and I have been buying a lot of dividend stocks in my margin account lately (CU, XEI, VDY, ENB, WSP, FTS, AQN, PWF, ENF) to take advantage of the dividend tax credit. Is it better to hold dividend growth stocks in your RSP or Margin accounts?

Any examples of what you would do or insight into this would be great! I'm 35 years old and time horizon is 10-20 years (would like an early retirement haha!)

Q: Greetings 5i,

Accumulating funds over the next 18-24 months for a downpayment on first time home. I expect my TFSA account will receive most of the cash as I do not wish to draw down my RRSP account. I was needing your advice on where you feel this money should be placed? Would rising interest rates and possible inflation kicking in be a consideration here? Also this will be a monthly contribution situation and my online broker(TD WebBroker) charges a $9.99 fee for ETF and equity transactions which I would like to avoid. Would TDB909 be a satisfactory option for this? Should I open up an account with a different broker if needed to avoid these fees and dollar cost average into an ETF of your recomendation?

Q: I have some US cash and think I will deploy it in a copper stock because of the upward price pressure on copper. Could yo recommend some names that I can pick up using US dollars?

Q: Hello, I have a question regarding the bounce back potential/probability of some of my energy stocks. Irregardless of the rest of my portfolio.

since the recent peak in stock values I now have a drop in these:

Sgy 23% down
Rrx 24% "
Pey 29% "
Vet. 12% "
Hwo 6% "

I've done exceeding well on all, especially sgy. Consistently however 5i lists Sgy well below vet in terms of "likeing it".

Considering selling half of my 150,000 shares of Sgy and plugging into one of the others.

What are your thoughts? If Trump/border issues clear up and oil gains, how would you list these stocks in likelihood of gaining the most by percentage? And, is "by percentage" the intelligent way to view this?

Side request - could you refrain from short forms of industry lingo. I read many answers you provide members and between typos and lingo I'm sometimes lost as to your meaning.

Q: I have small positions in sis and csh.un and I am looking to add comparable positions in real estate that has a focus outside of Canada. Would you recommend either Nwh.un or hlp.u with regards safety of dividend with moderate capital appreciation and your reasoning? Thanx.

Q: Can you give me your thoughts on the following 3 companies, PPL, ALA, ENF, do you think this a good time to add 5% position for each of these 3. I currently hold KWH.UN (5%), BCE (5%), BEP.UN (5%), ZDV (25%), ZPR (35%), and ZRE (25%), I am up currently up 26% on ZPR, thinking of reducing my exposure to ZPR znd add these 3 names.

Q: Hi, Both Cirus Energy and Altus Group have moved up nicely 5-6%, since addition to your portfolios. I guess, I should have added to my portfolio at the same time, instead of hoping for a lower entry point. Are these companies still a good buy at current levels ? How have been these co's earning trends in past (surprises, lumpiness) and is it worth waiting to buy around earnings ? Thanks

Q: Hello Peter, Ryan and team:

In the current political/rate increase climate what is a good % in terms of asset allocation for Bonds for a 60+ year old couple who are medium risk takers. Further more inside the bonds what should be % for Short term/medium term, Corporate and high yield bonds. I understand it is not a good idea to hold Long term bonds though Vanguard has just released several ETFs incl Long bond ETF! When the experts on BNN or in Business pages talk about "cash" position 30% etc., I presume they mean cash/GICs and Bonds?
