Q: What are your top 3 picks in the digital data storage sector and why. Thanks for your analysis.

Q: Hi 5i, I currently have preferred shares in 13 different companies. I would like to diversify as they are all in finance, utilities, energy and Telecom. Can you name three companies to put into my RRSP that are US based with preferred shares that are solid. I'm looking for 5y resets or perpetual, thanks.

Q: SL GREEN, despite its recent dividend cut, seems a decent choice. Would you suggest buying REITs at this time and, if so, which ones? I am a retiree seeking inflation-resistant income.

Q: Is it a good time to start buying REITS or should I wait until 1/2 way through next year when we know more about this recession that everyone is predicting?

Can you recommend 1 or 2 CDN and 1 or 2 US for a long term hold?

I'm interested in these US REITs. Can you rank them best to worst for a longterm holder, and comment on the best account type to hold them in?
I know you've said that in general REITs are best held in a TFSA, but are there any exceptions to that guideline among them.

Q: Hi 5i, looking for help taming the RIETs part of my portfolio as i own all of the above. Can you help me with selling some REITs (anything I've doubled up on or is not the best choice). I am planning on redistributing the funds to the remaining REITs. As usual your help is appreciated, if you could rank them also that would be great.

Q: What is your point on view on DLR and on Data centers ,would you sell ,keep,or switch DLR now (at lowest in 52 weeks) for another REIT or a data center ETF ? thanks

Q: I want to add funds to my real estate holdings, as well as refine it for maximum sector diversification.

My current holdings are DIR.UN, EQIX, DLR, CAR.UN, GRT.UN

On my watchlist for this sector are TCN and CCI

Can I get your opinion on:

1) Are there any redundancies in my current holdings and if so, what could be sold?

2) Could you rank my current holdings for which to add to - first to last?

3) For proper sector diversification, would TCN and/or CCI be good additions? Or is there another real estate name you would suggest?

Option 99: Do Nothing (Default)
Holder to retain Security.

A few question I'm hoping you can answer:
1. When is the transaction expected to close?
2. If I do nothing it says I retain the security? What does that mean?
3. I am very sad to see the stock get taken over? What would be a good replacement for it? There aren't that many names in the same space. Would the replacements have the same growth potential?

Can you tell me what type of account is generally best to hold US REITs, from a tax perspective?
I hold these 4 Canadian REITs (TCN, WIR.U, DIR.UN, SMU.UN) and am interested in several US REITS. I've been considering AMT, CCI, EQIX, DLR. Can you comment on these and suggest a few others.

Q: Is there an ETF, either in the US or Canada, that you would favour if one wanted to focus on data centers. If there is no ETF are there any specific stocks, again US or Canada.

Q: I have some USD within my business account from US client payments. Rather than holding as cash at the current exchange rate, I'm thinking of investing it into something that would produce some yield. It's within my Canadian Corporation, not sure the implications around US Dividends within a Corp?

I see more upside in the individual tickers mentioned, but buying the index is an easier means of setting and forgetting. Any insight or other names that would be of interest? I'd say I'm less open to significant risk with this capital coming from the Corp.

Q: These companies have been drifting off their highs and am wondering if there is a particular reason for this; wondering if this is a good time to buy, or hold, and which you think have the best value and potential? Thanks!

I know this is a bit out of your wheelhouse but i will ask anyways. I currently own Duke Realty which i have done well with. However, i am thinking of switching from Duke to Digital Realty given the recent correction in Digital. I know it will take some time to absorb their recent acquisition but i like their future growth given their expertise in Digital Data centres and the trend in Cloud computing. Your thoughts on the switch. I am looking for a bit of growth along with a nice divi.
I pay no trading fees so that is not a consideration!
