Q: Hi team,
I have not asked about ROKU since May. I have a sizeable position in it as I like its prospects as a major platform provider in the TV streaming space. It has done well this year and every time I am thinking about trimming back, I read another article touting its takeout potential due to its attractive position in the space. There was an article in Barron’s this week speculating that ROKU is now big enough to interest any one of the big tech/media giants. Even AMZN is viewed as a potential buyer even though it is a competitor with its Fire TV services. I know you guys don’t like picking stocks for their buyout potential, but I am wondering about your current outlook on ROKU. It never shows up on your list of favourite U.S. growth stocks and subscribers ask that question almost every week. Is it on your B list?
Thanks again,
dave

Q: Good day team,
Two years ago you weren't too positive about VRTX. What do you think of it now? Would you be a buyer based on its momentum and valuation?
Thank you for your insight!

Q: Good Morning,
On average how long do strategic reviews take to complete? Does 3-6 months seem reasonable? They are coming up to 3 months so wondering if you think year end is a reasonable time frame to hear something? With Brent oil prices hovering around $85 things look even better for them.
Thanks

Q: Is the current market price a decent entry point for these two stocks, in your opinion? I'm looking for relatively secure income rather than much growth.

Q: I am getting beat up by the above companies --all down 20 to 27%.
I am not comfortable with these kind of losses--usually bail out around 10%
Which proves to be a mistake sometimes.
What is your reccomendation SELLor HOLD and for how long if you are suggesting I hold.
Thanks
Peter

Q: With all the subsidies benefiting US car industry. Do you think it is beneficial to start a position on a company like GM?
Or, Would it be better to invest in companies which develop autonomous cars? Can you suggest any such names of software or hardware for autonomous vehicles? I already have a half position in MG.

Q: I'm a little confused. Hoping you can help. In their last news report, they have now sold the Petro chemical plant which I understood was to be a big driver of future profits. Stock has not sold off, can you explain how this will benefit company in future?

Q: May I please have your opinion and analysis on A.O. Smith, a company that was just downgraded by Goldman Sachs. Also, is Edwards Lifesciences worth holding or do you have an alternative choice in the sector?

Q: My wife and I have recently retired and we have enough from CPP, OAS, and a company pension to cover our basic needs. We are bring over about 650K from an investment company that we are not happy with. With that money I would like to earn about 4% in dividend income to pay for vacations, and extras for us. I am thinking of taking 400K and investing it in your income portfolio and 250K in 3 or 4 dividend paying international funds. What are you thoughts? Could you also recommend a few US and International dividend paying ETF's. Thanks for all of your help.
Q: Members keep asking about the dividend safety for this co. It sits in an interest sensitive space so it is down, it is a unique business model as well but am I wrong in thinking that so long as profits are not changing and their subscription base is not changing significantly then the dividend is better than safe and could even increase. I could see stock price being an issue if the company were needing to raise money or make a purchase with stock but a company making the same money now and now maybe more with cost cutting as when it was significantly more expensive is a great value. Is there a metric I am missing that puts company at risk.
Thx for the great service

Q: Do you view Whitecap's dividend as safe or do you think they will direct those funds toward more growth...thanks.
Q: Hi, I see other members are selling stocks for a tax loss. In my case I only have investments in my rsp, so will not be able to use this strategy. How much of the downward momentum on stocks like DOL and TCL can be attributed to selling for a tax loss? The recent negative market reaction to both of these stocks was quick and as you have stated possibly an "over reaction". How much of the drop can be attributed to sellers seeing the chance to take a tax loss. This is a part of the market I don't understand all that well. Thanks.
