Q: Hello 5i,
If one wants a high concentration of very strong growth stocks and understands the risks involved with applying this type of investing strategy, can you please name 10 stocks that 5i would be very comfortable in owning for this purpose (a mix of USD and CAD)?

Q: Is there any reason at all to hang onto either of these two companies -- HR Reit and Cenovus -- in a well balanced portfolio. These are two of my deadbeats in the Worst Performance category. Any suggestions to improve stability and growth?

Q: Good Afternoon
Some brokers, when recommending a security, they properly disclose whether they have managed a public offering of the security or whether they have received compensation for investment banking services. Thus, the investor is in a better position to assess the recommendation of the broker.

My question is about Morningstar. Do they provide any type of services for the companies recommended in their portfolios ?

Q: Polls currently indicate that Trump will lose the US presidential election, and the Democrats could possibly win both the Senate and Congress as well. If this were to take place, what do you see as the risks/opportunities for the US market? What sectors/ETFs do you feel will do well in a fully controlled Democrat US government?

Blackrock has recommended that the US will underperform both Canada and Europe over the next 10 years. Do you agree with this assessment? Should investors be reducing their US holdings and reallocate to Europe and Asia? If yes, to what extent?

Q: Hi,
I am wondering what your thoughts are on ETFs that focus on China. As it reopens, do you see any benefit to owning either an ETF, or possibly specific shares, that are expected to grow coming out of Covid? CNXT is another ETF I've looked at, but it is not in your database. My portfolio is about 60% in Canada, the balance in US and I have been focusing on adding more US exposure, mainly in the tech and health care sectors. I also find it interesting that the auto industry in China gained as Covid restrictions eased and am seeing a bit of follow through in the US auto industry, possibly driven by TSLA - but I am not sure why that would be, as I would think it is the last thing anyone would be buying now. If adding more international exposure, what would be a good target percentage and does this make sense at this point in time? Please deduct points as you see fit.

Q: I currently hold positions in Sandstorm Gold and Newmont Corp (larger holding). I would like to add one more stock and I am considering Kirkland Lake, Agnico Eagle and B2 Gold. I have a relatively high risk tolerance and I would appreciate your choice from among these three companies unless you have an alternative that you prefer.

Q: Hi 5i team,
Congrats on the recent upgrade to Portfolio Analytics. It seems to be a big hit. I would consider it myself but over the past several years, I have moved 75% of my equity holdings to the U.S. (in RRSP, TFSA and non-registered), which has vastly outperformed my Canadian holdings. PA would tell me to come back to Canada which I don’t want to do. I don’t follow the conventional portfolio rules. In fact, I am considering moving all my remaining fund to the U.S. markets. Other than the currency risk if the CDN $ appreciates on a sustained basis (which I doubt), do you see any other pitfalls with this strategy?

Q: if I want to received dividend in US , will it be advisable to buy co. like Enb. in U$., or other dual listing companies, like RY,TD. or will it be better to simply buy equivalent US listed Co. instead. Thank you as always.

Last we discussed NNO was early March. Based on your recommendation, I held my position.

Today the price is up over 40%. Last news I read was June 24 when a "Breakthrough in longer lasting Lithium-ion Cathode Materials" was discussed.

What do you know about why NNO has seen such a big jump today?
