Q: I looked at a summary of the their business activities and it seems to be principally with professional managers wherein the new disclosure rules will not be an issue. Do you have any information on how much of their income is derived from services to retail clients or others where the disclosure rules would be a factor?

Q: I would like two financial stocks for my kids RESP. One growth and one more stable/dividend stock. What should I be buying now? Thanks
Q: would it not be prudent to hold off on adding or initiating a position here considering they just announced a reduction in their fund fees? some of these fees have dropped by 30% or so. what % of their income actually comes from fund fees? this is definitely going to have at least some impact on earnings going forward.
thanks Tom

Q: Good morning my question concerns cxi which I hold but in a 1.6% position compared to your 4.12% but in that sector I am looking at adding gsy as an alternative and to give diversity simply because you have recommended it as one of the top ten holds in one of the last questions. my concern with cxi is the volatility that it has had over the last two years. is there also another stock in your universe that could also be added to bring the total to the 4.12% position but with two to three stocks instead of one...thanks for the great service

Q: Is it a good time to invest in FSZ or is the trend to ETF's going to harm it ?

ECN Capital Corp. (ECN $3.05)
Q: I hold these companies at about a 20% weighting in my growth portfolio but only 5% overall weighting. Should I have equal weights of all three, or would you favor a different balance for 2017? Is there be a catalyst I should be watching for where I would lighten up on one or another (eg:interest rate hikes etc)? Your best strategy for next year or so please???
Q: What is your current thinking on FSZ. I currently already have about 25% of my portfolio in the financial sector - big cap stocks only.

Q: Please comment on Fiera's quarter and some of their recent initiatives; i.e. their offer to Acquire Charlemagne Capital Limited, their Centria acquisition and new management appointments. Is there a Trump effect one way or another on this stock? Still a good buy for growth and income??

Q: I am a retired income/growth investor, have sold some PKI (made over a double) and looking to reinvest in a similar growth/income stock. Would you have a preference between FSZ or EXE, they both pay about 5% and seem to have good prospects. If you have another preference I am all ears. Thanks,
John

Q: Hello 5i
With National Bank having ownership stake in Fiera Capital and National taking action to reduce costs and bolster capital, what are your thoughts on National exiting Fiera Capital?
Clearly if this did come to pass, a stock overhang and likely downward pressure on FSZ would develop yes?
The chart(FSZ 1yr) shows signs the stock price could break down as easily as up and the 3 yr shows FSZ in a long downtrend.
Would you be entering here($12.06 Pre-open today) and if yes, with what expectation and holding period?
Thanks
Dave

Q: Hello, This question comes from your comments to Joel regarding BDI. I am holding DCI pending the completion of the sale and wonder if BDI would be a decent choice for income and future growth. I am thinking of selling now and making the switch. I would appreciate your thoughts, pro and con as well as alternates I could consider. My portfolio is well diversified so not a consideration for this change.
Thanks for the advice and input.
Brian
